Well I came up on some lucky money playing Keno up in Lake Tahoe last Thursday. I got the Ford Racing Handling Pack placed on order yesterday. I am surprised how cheap the installation that was quoted to me is. So parts and labor is a little under 2500.
I am also going to look into a hood swap out. The two I have in mind are the RK Sport Ram Air or The Shelby CS6 hood. I am going to call Shelby Motors on Monday to see if the part is for looks or it is functional.

I will try and get some before and after pictures up. I am really looking foward to getting the handling pack put on. The pack is coming from Kentucky so I'm waiting on it. Late next week is most likely the time that the install will be done. I had a bad expierence with lowering a car before. The Ford kit looks like a good one so I'm gonna go for it. I had an Eibach kit on the 98 mustang I had and I was dissapointed.
As far as the hood goes I've been getting grief from the body shops about putting a fiberglass hood on. They said it will take alot of work to get it done because they never fit and they have to look at it before they put it on. One guy recommended that I keep the stock one on because the fiberglass gets stripped slowly and the paint peels if it gets chipped. I was leaning towards the RK hood.

Where do you live? I was quoted 1720 for parts and labor in San Diego at Bob Baker Ford. This price was without the strut tower brace though. You can find one of those for 80 on ebay.

I live in Elk Grove. I did find a better price for labor at $450.00 but the tech is saying the stut tower brace may be an extra charge to put on. Thats if he has to drill and fit the piece. Which is not going to be the case.
According to the install sheet on the ford parts web page the brace fits over the existing studs. The nuts will just have to be taken off of course. If he charges me for that install. I'll put that part on myself. Anyways it looks like everything will come to about $1500-1600. The pack will be arriving Wed via Yellow Freight and I have an appointment for the install next Friday.

I've heard very good things about that kit on some of the other forums. I have had some rough times with lowered cars or I'd think about it. With the Shelby GT coming with that kit I may have to drop by the dealership and check out out to see if I would mind the kit on my car.

You should totally be able to put the strut brace on yourself. I was just looking to see if you could save some cash that you could spend on that hood ;o)

Good luck with it and let us know how the pack is. I have been eyeing it for a while too.

If the tech doesn't know that the strut tower brace just bolts on (a 10 minute job) I'm not sure that I would let them install your suspension package!
he might be used to fox bodies in which thers more then jus bolting going on. not knowing because u havent done one doesnt mean hes incapable.

Hey guys I had a delay with the shipment. Jegs screwed something up:shrug: . No sweat though I got the pack and its being installed. I hope to have before and after pics up sometime tonight.

sacrstang,

Did you get that pony out to Sacramento Raceway yet? Next year you should hit their Mustang Madness event the second Saturday in August.

Take Care.

Here is one last picture the strut tower brace.
So far having the car 3 hours after the install it handles mucho better and it looks a little meaner of course. But the real test will come taking the car through the mountains surrounding Santa Cruz one of these weekends. Inspecting some of the parts a little closer with the mechanic they where Eibach manufactured with FR slapped on em.
