flows or race bullets?

I went from flowmasters to bullets and love them. Flowmasters were so quiet got to the point where i couldnt hear them in 5th gear cruising. And I HATED the sound, bullets woke my car up, if your getting sick of them look for something else but NOT flows.

Your biggest "problem" if you will, is your catted X. Get an offroad X and your car will sound totally different.

OR, you can get 2 chamber Flows and chop'em up like i do!

with my longtubes and Offroad X.. 40 series 2 chambers with stock tails.. its sounds throaty and good... everyone loves the sound but im more a magnaflow kick ass bang your headinto the ground kinda sound guy lol

I run Mac 1 5/8 Equal Lengths, Mac Off-Road H-Pipe, pretty much a full Mac exhaust except for the mufflers which are FLOWMASTER OUTLAW SERIES RACE MUFFLERS, this is the setup I have on my '89 GT and let me say it is ungodly loud and I love it, great sound, tone, everyone looks, sounds very mean, but in your case, I would even check out Mac's Flowpath Mufflers, to me, they sound better than 2 chamber 40 series and are little bit louder, what I think would be just the right sound for you. Good Luck in you decision, Later, Jeff.

Where do you buy Outlaw mufflers at? Arent those the resonnator style like Bullets are? I've seen a couple cars at the track with them but never have found where to buy them. A lot of people ask if that's what i'm running now though.

after driving my car today, its not that its too loud, i just want that choppy classic musclecar sound. would an offroad H with the bullets dumped give me that sound? what about a H with cats on it?

Cats kill sound more than just about any muffler. I've had even a stock Mustang cat-back with an offroad H and it sounded pretty badass....it wasn't as rowdy as aftermarket sets but they did have a lot of throat to them. Check the second link in my sig....that's similar to what you'll get with an X and 2 chamber Flowmasters, except at about 3k RPM my car starts getting REALLY raspy...you won't get that with regular 2 chambers.

I checked online at Flowmaster's website when I bought them, you have to type in Flowmaster Outlaw Series Race Mufflers, and sizes will come up and prices along with parts numbers. I first read about them in 5.0 Mustang and Super Fords, then decided to get them because my cousin had 10 series 1 chamber, then I heard these had no chambers, so I knew I had to get them because I just love a nice loud exhaust that sounds just right. There was a performance place in Clifton called THE-HOT-ROD-SHOP, that closed down, he was a Flowmaster dealer and all I did was give him the parts numbers and he ordered them, you can order them right through Flowmaster too if you want. They have a round casing and do look like bullets, but in my opinion are better. I love them and think they are awesome, I recommend them to anyone who wants a great ungodly sound, and get everyones attention when you pull in somewhere. Later, Jeff.

bullets.......period.......

but if you wnat something else go Spintech, sportsmans or prostreets (mild or wild)

heres the spintech sportsman side exit catted system on a 5.0 on the dyno.

Spintech Pro-Streets are definitely another great choice of muffler for your mustang w/ both the right amount back pressure, loudness, and tone. Later, Jeff.
