New to the New Breed

Hey all I will be picking up my new Stang tommorrow. A 2007 Stang GT/CS, Black on Black/Gery inter. I fell in love with the beauty from the moment I saw it. I was wanting to know if there are any problems I should be on the look for as well as what seems to be the best Cat-back for power make out there for these cars. I was reading that the new stang have really great flowing exhaust from the factory already. I know they sound nice compared to the previous gens. before from the factory. I have been out of the stang world for awhile and was wondering what some of your guys' thoughts were on the new Breed. I was looking at the Corsa, Loud-Mouths, and Magna-Paks. Any info would be great thanks again all.

Congrats

Congrats on your new baby, I'm sure you will love it as much as the rest of us do. If you decide to change exhaust, you really should consider CORSA. I did a lot of research before going with CORSA and I couldn't be happier. I think this system is really top shelf. There is absolutely no drone and the WOT sound is unbelievable. They are the best. Enjoy your new pony!

One of the things that I have noticed on my 07 GT about the exhaust sound is that it really sounds different in the car and outside it. When I first drove mine I was sure I was going to replace the exhaust with Flowmasters. Then I got out and checked the mail and heard it idle for the first time. It sounded really mean and nothing like what it sounded from inside. I turned it loose with the window down and it really sounded good. I am re-thinking changing the exhaust.

Very true! I remember when I stood there and heard the Ford tech take off with my car (for hood re-paint) it sounded mean!! With stock exhaust, and obviously he wasn't even getting on it! I couldn't believe how loud it was and how good it sounded from outside as it drove off!

It took me a long time to decide if I really wanted to spend money on exhaust... I finally did, and went with the FRPP Stingers after A LOT of research. And again, they sound completely different inside vs outside the car!

Anyhow, the Ford Racing Stingers (made by Borla) are a great choice, they are straight through mufflers, loud, mean, and deep! Probably the deepest tone you can find for these cars. Plus, you shed at least 10lbs with installing these as apposed to GAINing about 8-10lbs with Corsa exhaust.

Just listen to A LOT of sound clips, and try to hear as many as possible in person. Also remember that the only mufflers that show power gains are the straight-through type. If power is your main concern then dont even consider chambered/baffled mufflers.

Happy hunting!
:nice:

I went with CORSA and would ordinarily be quite happy with them - easy to fit, quality items (heavier than stock though) with zero drone and not a bad blare on WOT.

However, I have to counter that praise by saying I have a supercharger on mine so WOT is often not an option so for me, much of the time, it's pleasant but too quiet. I'm about to order some Loudmouths so I can have some real V8 NOISE! I have the Corsa X-pipe but stock cats.
