I have been hearing people say shed weight off your cobra. Any idea on what people are taking out of their vehicles to make them lighter.Thanx for any input.
Weight reduction for the 03/04 is not cheap. There are a couple inexpensive changes you can perform, but after those it's going to cost money. Installing a rear seat delete is good for a 35lb reduction as long as you remove the rear seat belt assemblies too. You can also remove the front swaybar. More drastic measures like installing a tubular K-member and coil overs all the way around will drop a few pounds. Dumping the IRS for a straight axle out of a GT is good for a big weight savings and will drastically increase your 60' times at the strip. You could also get rid of the stock iron block and replace it with an aluminum Teksid block. How light you want to go is all based on how deep your wallet is....

There is a guy in our MACA that has done a ton of weight reduction to his cobra but has basically gutted the entire car. Rear seat-delete, no carpet, only light weight driver seat, etc. The interior is destroyed, looks like hell. In my opinion this is not the car you do that too. Get an old LX and gut it, already light to begin with. The car with him in it and 1/4 tank of fuel weighs in at around 3550 lb., not bad but he turned a $36K car into a mess on the inside:nonono: .
