24s or 30s

i have performer heads that have been ported out, a trick flow street heat intake, 70 mm tb, and a power adder cam, the motor made 525 hp with 8 lbs of boost, i am just going to go with nitrous instead for the power adder. i dont know the exact specs on the cam, but it did real nice with my blower before it crapped out.

The headers glowing red hot is usually from unburned gas making it into the exhaust chamber. This was signify to rich.

For your blown combo...the 42's were just fine.

Your right, without a "chip" tune or something similar...you will get that fuel smell a lot...

I did after adding 30lb injectors to my h/c/i combo. I wish I would have gotten 24's.

I think 30lb injectors would be sufficient.

I would listen to Kevin (04Sleeper) on the what injector to get.

I have noticed more of a low rpm surge after adding bigger injectors as well.

your car runs well at the track, does your car smell like gas with the 30's?

Either way you will need to have your car tuned.

A buddy of mine ran a similar combo with a 331. N/A it made 406 RWHP and he had a 125 shot on it as well. The car ran just fine with the 42's and an 80mm Pro-M. (He thought the same thing about being too big until he ran them)

You will need the extra fuel with the spray and having a bigger injector just lets you have more room to grow, but with a 347 and a 150 shot you need it anyway, even with a wet shot.

Fuel smell can come from several things. When you seem to smell gas and it burns your eyes it can be from running lean. I have witnessed this personally on a dyno and you would swear that it was running rich when actually it was running lean. Sometimes the smell comes from the tank vent or bypassing the charcoal canister.

Just a few things to think about.

Yeah, it does. Of course you don't smell it at the track...to many people just like me:)

It didn't smell like it did with 19lb injectors.

The car runs fine and I get good gas mileage...but it gives a rich idle and I think an overall rich powerband. I have gotten 24mpg before (23.9x) to be exact...with no tune, and that is how the car remains, untuned.:bang:

My charcoal canister hasn't been bypassed and I first noticed after the h/c/i swap. I also smell it when driving real slow...

I run #30, fuel pressure is at 42 with vac line off and plugged and timming is at 12* spout out but my compression is 10.1 so you should be able to run more timming.

what is your fuel pressure and timing set at?

My fuel pressure is at 39psi with the vacuum line off and plugged. The factory ECU wants to see in the range of 38-40psi, so I centered it:)

My timing is 16*.

I don't have a strong fuel smell going down the road, just at idle or idle type speeds...it is noticeable but the car runs good.
