Sirius Radio

I have the sattalite radio in my 07 GT. I am still under the trial package that came with the car. I was planning on going ahead and buying the lifetime package. Here is the catch. I need the receiver number to give to Sirius Radio. I can find it, where can I find this number?

Just FYI....if you buy a lifetime membership it is only on the radio you originally register. If it breaks or you change units you will need a new "lifetime membership". I go year to year, Sirius is the best.

Unless Sirius has changed the "lifetime" contract, you can transfer it up to 2 times to different radios. IIRC it cost $50 to do the transfer.

I buy it a year at a time. Don't forget that it's free on your computer and you can get it half price for another radio. (Actually I think half price for more than one.) I pay full price for mine and half for my wife's on her 2005 Escape.

It says three times and 75 bucks on their website.........

Subscribe for the lifetime of your radio! Pay ONLY $499.99 once and forget about bills. Plus, act soon and you can transfer your lifetime subscription to a different SIRIUS Receiver when you upgrade or replace your radio — up to three times — for only $75 per radio. Do any of you know if I can "upgrade" my 2007 GT's Shaker 500 system with a stock Sirius module? I am hoping it is just a module that plugs in to the AUX port. I'd like to retain the controls on my Shaker system for it.

Thanks.

dont go for the lifetime. too expensive. also, i like having a tuner that i can use in my stang, yukon and house, and the portable boombox. this is why i am using the sportster replay. it doesnt make sense to use it thru the factory radio, and plus the display/interface isnt as good as a dedicated sirius radio.

I don't want any "devices" kludging up my sexy retro dash! :)

Besides I only listen to 5 stations anyway. Just program them in the stock mem settings and be done with it. :)

So is that a yes or no that I can buy a module from Ford and plug it in and get Sirius on my '07 Shaker 500?

I am not willing to take anything apart on mine to see what is behind there. I am just glad I got it as an option, I have never had it b4 and I didn't know what I was missing. Plus that little annoying ant. everyone is complaining about blends in pretty well on these alloy metallics.

From the owner's manual: While in satellite radio mode, press the AUX button and Preset 1 button simultaneously to display the electronic serial number. I did this to get mine.

Is this the same for 06 GTs? I can't find it in the owner's manual, how do you get into satellite mode ?

i just went out to my car and mashed it. It just said NO Audio. how much is it to have it installed? as long as I am paying for it I would like to hear it. they aharge 50 to cancel, but I've been paying for it over 6 months and not listened to it

I still don't get paying for radio.

I have the money, but it seems counterintuitive to pay for something that should be free.

Granted I also acknowledge that listening to Clearchannel radio that contains more ads than music isn't a viable option if you care about music. This is the main reason I don't even have an antenna on my car.

I will stick to CDs and use the money, saved by not buying rented music, to own the music I listen to. :nice:

You've been paying for it but not had it installed in your car?? Did the dealership do that? Something sounds very fishy. Why would you pay for something you were not using?

As for paying for radio, the price is well worth the huge amount of commercial free variety that Sat offers. The sound quality is pretty good now too.

I agree 4 major reasons to pay for satelite radio:

1. Commercial Free
2. Sound Quality
3. Great for Road Trips
4. Variety: News (CNN, ESPN..), Comedy, Music(Rock, Hip Hop, blues, country, and just about any other genre you could think of)
