Has anyone purchased and installed these 3 point seat belts?

I have installed them in my coupe. I accidently bought the 67-68 version, so to install them in my 69 required a little more effort.

If you can see the copper plate with two nuts welded on, those spot welds are really weak and I was able to torque right through them (not safe for seatbelts imo). I had a shop weld them up stronger for me.

they look normal, like they belong there. I often have people jump in my car and reach for them without even thinking about it or noticing that they normally wouldn't be there.

Sorry about that. I got in a small accident with my stang yesterday and forgot to take pictures, here you go.

If you wanna see the damage from my accident check here. Big ol' scrape and a tiny dent. I seriously messed up her civic tho. BTW it was all her fault.

Again, it might not be representative of how you will install it. I kinda modified the parts I got in the 67-68 kit for my 69.

I have them and the quality is not real great. I am a big fan of OEM parts but in this case I have not found anything in a kit form so I used the aftermarket kit. The thing that bugs me is the seat belts do not have a label sewn on them to say that they meet any safety standards so I guess when I have a bad accident and live through it I will let you know that they work (or not). I guess they are better than just a lap belt?

Mine are similar, but I got them from Southern Rods:

I added metal plates in the roof and sill areas to secure them.

I moved the lap belts to the back seats.

If I were to do it again, I would mount them the same way, but would've searched for a set with higher quality. Particularly the retractors - they have a centrifugal catch system which seems way too sensitive. When you go to put them on, you have to pull them out very gently or they catch. It gets aggravating sometimes.

Slightly off topic, but for all you guys that have posted with different brand belts, do you think any of them would look decent if the shoulder belt mounted to a tab welded on to a 4 point rollbar? I can't tell enough from any of your pictures to really envision it, although your installs do look nice. I posted a thread with this question here: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=659071, but I really haven't gotten any replies as of yet that answer my question.

I also got mine from Southern rods for about half the cost of Mustangs Unlimited, shipped to my door. As Tim's pics show, they're OEM quality. Mine mounted very easily in my '70, and I used the stock upper seatbelt mount, so they only required drilling holes to mount the retractors. I haven't had any problem with the retractor catching overly easy. I think Tim is probably having a problem because of the angle of the belt to the retractor. They're inertia belts, so when they get off kilter they tighten up like they should.
