Hey guys, I need a little advice. I have a 1996 4.6L convertable GT. I have already added a steeda springs which lowered the car about 1-1.5 inches. I have also installed steeda caster/camber plates. I am looking to replace my wheels. I currently have 17x9 cobra r wheels and I would really like to go with 19 inch wheels but I dont know if they will fit and what my tire limitations are. Thanks for any help that you all can give.

go on tirerack.com or discounttiredirect.com and shop for rims/tires and see what's out there first, or even mustangtuning.com

your main concern is not that it will fit height wise, it's about how wide your want them and to have a proper gap width-wise

I have 18's and they are as big as I wanna go. 19's just get to darned expensive, and they don't help your performance characteristics or anything else....
Heck i'll sell you mine, so I can go back to 17's

on your year, 18s appear larger than they do on 99-04s. different wheels look bigger than others too. saleens look bigger cause the spokes are straight and go from hub to outter edge..
the deep dish fr500s look smaller that deep dish bullitt because of the spoke angles. a 17 inchdeep dish looks deeper than an 18 bacause of proportions. 19s are like 800 to 1200 more than 18s usually....

i personally chose to avoid true after market and go for wheels that are knock offs of specialty mustangs.
typical aftermarket tends to make you look a rice lover.

tires can fill the gap well to. also space your rear or go wide out back.

as far as performance---- my car was a lotslower gong from stock wheels to my deep dish 18x10s out back. its rotational mass......

Those saleens looks nice on your car too. I think on 94-04 cars 18's look good but i wouldnt go any larger. 19's are just a little too big for our year cars, and tend to make then look ghetto. The s-197's however look alright with bigger wheels then ours.
