Can any of u guys keep up with a Ls1?

If you've some gears, intake, and bolt ons, you can keep up with the crappy geared ones from a stop for a little bit. Then again you are a 'vert so that hurts. Unless you've got some good engine work, a fox mustangs best chance against one is from a dig. Then you better pray they don't have a big stall and gears, if so your screwed.

I ran right next to one at the track. He got me out of the hole and then i started pulling on him and missed 3rd gear. All i had was 3:55's, full exausht, pullies and a short throw..

My brother has a 99 z28 and he ran a 13.4 at the track when it was stock...Now with his h/c/i he is putting down 436 to the wheels off the nitrous...Those engines also get very good gains from simple things. That thread in the forum is actually Numbles. One thing my brother even said is that most people with LS1s pretty much keep there cars stock for the most part and that when you see a mustang you most likely know it is modded.

Pfffft, there are more modded LS1's around here than stock ones lol.

TFS h/c/i, 125 shot, 4.10s, mt et radials = LS1 in the rear view.

Even with just 4.10s and nittos, from light to light, I really wouldnt have a problem with LS1 GTO's because I was able to launch my car like a machine lol, and it took till the top of 4th for them to run me down...

Yeah, aside from exhaust most LS1 FBods around here are stock. I edged out the ones I raced and I do mean edged. I've lost to a couple too though. A less than perfect launch against an A4 and I'm dead in the water. Going at an M6 from about a 20mph roll didn't produce good results either. lol Got broad torque?

yeah...I mistook an M6 for an M3 lol, I said to him "ill even let you get the jump" just to watch my self get anniliated lol....

i spot then out at least 5 cars and drive by them by the 600ft mark:nice: all stock pan to throttle body. even my dads 00ss m6 with tons of mods cant hang with it:rolleyes:

oh i have a 70mm turbo pushing air in it the motor though

ya the LS1 is a good motor but why dose everyone keep compairing a 302 to a 350 and not only that your talking about to very diffrenet motors.Hell I love the fact that every camaro,firebird,vette,srt-4,civic,supra or whatever all try to compaire there cars to a stock mustang, its like they have somthing to prove by beating a fox mustang.

its a staple in society as a quick car and is essentially the car to beat.

Well you can compare them, hell why not compare them, I think it is cool that with a little well spent money a fox can keep up with a modern day push rod that is one helluva motor

hell ya Im with you on that one all the way

I have seen MANY ls1's at the drag strip. I have NEVER seen (mostly Corvettes) get below the mid 8's without moderate modification, and even then they're not faster than a H/C/I mustang.

Some of you guys look at those cars as all she wrote... I raced an LS1 Trans AM 4 weeks ago in my STOCK 93 coupe.

I had:
H-pipe
Smog pump bypass
Flow Masters
Timing Bump
70mm TB
He ran a 9.2 and I ran a 9.4 (maybe 9.5- HUMID day)

In the fall my car will run a 9.0 with drag radials in stock fashion. That would make him run an 8.8 roughly. Most of the newer style vettes here run 8.4-8.8 in the 1/8.

I don't wanna hear 1/4 mile blah blah blah or kick down blah blah blah or "They're all modded" blah blah blah or any other CRAP about LS1's.

If you have an HCI MUstang, and you can't hang with or out run a mild LS1 car...

IT'S YOUR ISSUE.

Sorry to be an asshat but it's getting old. Learn to launch a stock car with a 1.9 or 2.0 60ft on radials and quit giving those cars so much credit. That pass I had a 2.2 60 ft. That boy gave his T/A all she had and was power shifting. I see him every time I go there. I had a 95 Formula LT1... those cars run 8.9's stock. A stock LS1 should get an 8.6 or 8.7 in the 1/8.

On top end they pull hard, but with a 2900-3300 lb mustang, with H/C/I, if you are losing to stock or mildy built LS1's you need to be driving a civic.

Jeez :nonono:
