ok so i have a pretty mild setup. tfs street intake, 75mm bbk tb, o/r h pipe, magnaflow catback, u/d's, ac and smog delete, and 3.73s. seeing as there is not alot of cheaper stuff to buy for my engine anymore, a camshaft is looking to be good for me right now. anyway, i did some research on possible cams, and i have gotten suggestions for either an F303, Crane 2031, Steeda #19, or a comp cams XE27HR. i dont have heads which is gonna hurt the combo, but which cam will provide the most hp w/o drivablity loss for my setup?

If you're gonna go to all the trouble to change the cam
and
that is no little job :nono:

I'd just have to ask you .......... why do it and not upgrade the heads at the same time

If you did just the cam ...... you won't pick up much of a gain :(

also ... if you did just the cam ... the one that would work with your E7's would most likely not be the best choice for better heads in the future :fuss:

No way I'd tear all that stuff apart ...... twice

That last part you brought up about drivability ............

Hey ... if you're really considering making any kind of power

Chances are ... you're gonna have to deal with it ...some how
after all
why should you be any different than all the rest of us :rlaugh:

Focus on drivability
and
you'll most likely give up some gain :bang:

Seriously ... Just start saving up and do the heads & cam together.

Might consider things like

larger fuel pump
larger inj's
a way to tune if DRIVABILITY rears its ugly head :bang:

I put the steeda #19 in, I lost some low end but it really kicks it in the upper end now, havent really got on it too much as i am makin sure everything is together well, just got it back together saturday, so far she runs great, idle is fine and drives great

Edit: And yes it is a big project, gotta take alot of **** off and even then the cam barley clears coming out, mine hit the sheetmetal out front and had to go sideways just a little to get her out

I added a B303 to my basically stock engine and it made a world of difference. Yea, the cam is mild, but it added a ton of low end torque and some sweet power on the top end as well.
Bigger is not always better, and I highly recommend a Motorsport cam for your Pony.
