decided to test my highway gas mileage a few days ago, and i am very pleased with the results...

the A/C blowing full blast, cruise control set at 65, managed 29.7 mpg, and with the A/C off, cruise control set at 65 managed 34.9 mpg.

not bad huh?

The A/C trip was a 95.2 mile trip, and the A/C off trip was a 125.3 mile trip.

Not bad at all. My city driving milage is close to that. I get 24 with the A/C on(summer) and 30 with the A/C off(winter). I may need a tune up or a little troubleshooting. I've lost a little fuel mileage here recently and even though it's still not bad, I know what it's capable of and want to get back there.

alright,
my 86 which i'm sure at this point has a blown lower intake gasket. I use as a daily driver, gets about 150 to a tank. it barely passed smog so time for some love. I run it pretty hard around town.

my (1)84 with the 65mm throttle body and running at 18psi gets about 270 to a tank mix between in town and some light freeway. its in peices so its not moving till next spring.

my(2 84 purchesed 9-11-06) I havnt driven it more then 70 miles but it seems to be about 20mpg

my 66 coupe 289 c-4, gets about 14mpg

my car rocks on gas mileage, althought it does help with the work i have done to it.

exhaust work, with ranger manifold, custom intake ( dont knock the pvc intake, my 55+ power was VERY noticeable improved, + gas mileage on it as well ) jet chip, and i just try to take care of it, although that gas mileage was on VERY old oil, old plugs, wires, and the like.

Im doing a tune up on it this weekend

I got 26mpg city and 33mpg hwy on my last two trips. I also drive my car hard around city. My car has 150,000 miles, I have about the same mods as Shinlee does.

I just checked mine yesterday, all in town driving was 21 mpg. I was cleaning my engine up yesterday and found the plastic line going from the pcv valve top side over to the charcoal canister was burnt in two where it got too close to the egr tube ( i think that is the egr at least). So who knows how long that has been burnt. If I understand correctly, this helps recirculate any unburnt gases back, so I guess I have been losing some.

Does this sound right? I will recheck next fillup.

it helps recirculate the gas ( vapor ) that is emitted from the combustion of the gas in the cylinders, and helps with emissions, so it may affect it by a mile or 2
