Hey guys, i bought a set of Brodix track 1 cylinder heads (225cc) and they have the optional valve spring package which consists of 1.550 dual valve springs, 240lb closed/550lb open, 1.950 installed height with a .700 max lift. Over the top of that on brodix website, it says "roller valve spring." Then there is another set of heads which consist of 1.470 "hydraulic roller valve spring," 125lb closed/325lb open, 1.90 installed height, .575 max lift. My motor i am having built has a hydraulic roller cam. My question is, will these heads be ok with a hydraulic roller, and if they arent and i need to run mechanical roller, will this cam be ok with either type of lifters because they are both roller, or will i need to change the cam? Thanks for any help!

SBFtech, i just checked out your website, i am interested in the probe billet rockers or the standard rockers, will they clear my valve springs (1.550), also the shaft rockers, do i just order that part # and they will fit my brodix heads, or after i buy, should i contact you about which heads i have? Thanks! BTW, are you anywhere around PA or DE? I noticed the car on your homepage has a rhodes custom auto decal on the front and started wondering. Thanks!

You can not use the springs that are on your head with a conventional hyd roller cam they are way too heavy, they are made for a solid or mech roller.

It should be no problem getting a solid roller cam to work with those springs I assume you are building something healthy with a 225cc head.

For the Probe shafts you want PT# 11312 for 1.6 or PT# 11315 for 1.7 they are a very nice piece and will clear what you have and keep it all stable. ;)

Can i use the hydraulic roller cam that is going to be installed in the motor with a mech. roller lifters? Or do i need a new cam? If i need a new cam that is gonna stink because i paid for this one already and have to take it. I am having a 427w built. The cam will be there on monday from comp, and they are installing and degreeing it. Rick, would you suggest a different cam, and if so, can you get them? Thanks!

Hey bud, sorry was at a damn wedding reception for people I had no clue who they were  Hey shoot me a PM tommorrow. The Probe 11312 or 11313 on my site fit the track 1's VERY nice pieces, and I mean very nice. Only difference is rocker ratio, let me know what you need. As for the stang, no thats a good friend of mines from my forum. Im in chicago. If you go to the site and buy, rest assured I will be following up on your order almost instantly with you.

OK, no problem, i think i will keep the springs that i have and use a solid roller cam with it then. I dont want to take a loss on the cam, i was going to have it installed, but i will call the company ASAP on monday and tell them to NOT install it, and just send me the timing chain and the cam. I will shoot you an email about the price. The motor will probably be shipped out sometime in the beginning of the week, i will let you know. This cam should he fine for you, i have a dart blocked 427 being built, completely forged, 4340 crank etc. SBFtech, i will be ordering the shaft rockers shortly, looks like a nice set of mechanical rollers are a lot more than hyd. rollers!! This thing keeps getting more expensive by the minute. LOL.

Just for your info I rang Probe and was assured that the 11312 shaft rockers would fit my GT40X's so I ordered a set and being in Oz they weren't cheap by the time they arrived.

I'm sure you can imagine my reaction when I found the rollers weren't even close to matching my valve centers.

Recently I decided to upgrade to AFR 185's and again I noticed that these rockers were also listed as fitting AFR heads, which was a bonus as they were sitting under the table gathering dust.

Received the 185 heads 2 weeks ago and guess what. Same again the exhaust centers are out .075" !!!!

They're under the table again :notnice: and a set of Jesel shaft rockers specifically for 185's will arrive tomorrow.

Its possible the Brodix may have different valve spacing than the GT40X and AFR's.

However, just reached under the table, dusted them off and the center to center measurement of the rocker rollers are 1-13/16" so check this against your valve spacing.

No point in two of us getting stung.

Hey man, thanks for the info. i will have to double check. My heads are track 1 225's, i was told by another member on the board i beleive the brodix valve spacing is .119" further than stock, so i will check. Thanks!!

NOONE gets stung buying from me, **** dont work and we cant make it work and troubleshoot there is a refund issued before you even ask for it. :flag:

No inference inferred on your part :D . I wish Probe had the same outlook.

If the Brodix also uses the same size valves as the AFR 185 I would assume the valves would be spaced the same but its possible they could be different.

But Anthony can now check his valves beforehand and if they are more than 1.825" center to center then these rockers will not be correctly centered.

I've used the 11312 on AFR heads (185's, 205's, 225's) and have not had any valve center issues, are you sure you have the correct PT#? I have recieved the wrong rockers in the past from Probe....in the correct box but they took them back and sent me a new set right away.

I have had to shim almost every set of shaft rockers from anywhere from .030"-.060" you may want to order them up front.

The Brodix do have slighty relocated centerlines, you may want to call just to verify.

Rick

Just checked again and the box says 11312 so I assume that's what they are but you could be right and if thats the case then they suck even more for shipping them halfway around the world and not double checking beforehand.

Fedex rang today to say my Jesels will be delivered tomorrow :D

The Probes will go on eBay later to cut my loss
