Wow, you sure missed my point!
I bought the car because I love it! The way it looks and runs. What I meant was there is a value in getting something NOW. That value wasn't the ENTIRE cost of the car! It was the 10K over MSRP.
And TRY to tell me you're so cool that you don't give a second thought to people looking at your great car. Maybe I'm wrong but your post reaks of someone who doesn't own one.:D

I was overly hard on you, I know. Mine is on order. Not bothering me though, it's not going to be a daily driver. I like being in a cool car as much as the next guy, but overt attention makes me squeemish. Just the way I'm wired.

But if you're trying to smack me with an envy bat by using the "I've got a GT500 and you don't" bat, it's a swing and a miss, as I wouldn't feel all that envious sitting at a light next to you in my '68 GT500KR, or my '69 Boss 429. ;)

It's a complicated issue. I'm proud of my cars. I'm NUTS with regard to detail and cleanliness and appearance of the cars, as it's a reflection of my standards. But I try not to get tricked into thinking that my car somehow makes me "cool" or "better". That's the point at which, it's just a car, and I'm just a guy, and I oughta be enjoying the rarity and exclusivity benefits for the right grounded reasons.

Anyhow, I am sorry about the previous post. I got a little overzealous. I simply lose it when I see people cruising around, or at car shows, taking the whole "look what I've got" thing WAYYYY past what would be considered psychologically healthy. You know, the guy who shows up at the Mustang show with the 1st of something new, and proceeds to unfold his director's chair, and sit next to the car all day, repeating the same snotty story about how rare it is and how much it cost him over and over, all day long...

You know the type... Unfortunately, when you dip your toe into the paying a bunch more than necessary for a car pool, you find your self swimming around with a bunch of those types, and you all look the same from the pool deck.

2007 Shelby Price

It's my first time replying to your website. I picked up my Red Shelby convertible last week. I put it next to my 1970 boss 302 for the winter. I'm planning on starring at it for the winter and enjoying it next spring. I paid sticker price for the car and the dealer gave me all the factory papers with car. The dealer was excellent to deal with and at no time try to raise the price.

I'm going to my local Ford dealer Friday night as I was invited along with 22 other people to bid on their First of five GT500 mustangs. It's Grabber Orange with white stripes and is loaded out. The problem is that he's had the car on his show room floor for a Month showing the thing off. His other problem is that car has already lost some of it's WOW and he's starting the bidding at $55,060? I don't think so! I really believe that he will not get a starting bidder at that price. Maybe three weeks ago ! Not today. It will be interesting to see if he restarts the bidding at MSRP.I'll keep you up on what happens.

Well I made it to the Auction, I was right, nobody would bid on the car. The owner was getting mad. He finally said he would give 5% of the sale to the united way. That made a soft hearted woman bid $55,100.00. She got the car.Nobody else bid on it.It was a joke. The picture I took exceeds the 78.1kb so I couldn't send the pic.

I love it. Good to see buyers are getting some sense. :nice:

Heh it was the same when the 05 GT came out. Well over priced. Now you cannot go a street block without seeing one. The price will come down. If people though want to pay for a overpirced stang to just say they had one first...well its their money.

In truth, I want to see what the challenger looks like..
