Anyone using SLP loudmouths?

I heard a soundbite and they sound pretty good....

I don't expect exhaust systems to usually add any power, I'm more concerned with sound. Loud systems don't worry me, but is this system TOO loud?

I'm also considering the magnaflow system which can be picked up for about 400 shipped. Is the extra 40 bucks worth the price over the SLP system?

Thanks all!

I'm considering the SLPs too. The thing that's stopping me is the "popping" sound. My friend has them is his T/A. I know it's a different setup on a different car, but it sounds bad at WOT. At idle, it sounds great.

I'm also considering the IMCO axle-back. I'm considered that they may be a little too loud for a daily driver, though

I was concerned about that too...I though it was a little pricey for just some pipes, even though they're stainless steel and have polished tips....

I really like the FRP axle-backs, but they're awfully pricey, the magnaflows save me about 60 bucks, but I was hoping to get into something a little less expensive.

Its just open pipe with no muffs......

Take your muffs off and drive around, IMOP not worth $300+ for pipes..............

He's right, i was going to buy LM pipes because i wanted it loud and i read to do what he has mentioned. I just pulled my mufflers and put on some pipes and tips, it sounds just like LMs (plus you can buy LM tips and make it look and sound the same) and the other guy is right who made the farm truck comment. It is very loud, raspy, unrefined, and causes severe drone in the cabin between like 2300-3800RPM. I like it but once i put on my LTs i am going to add some Borlas or something because then it will be loud and deep with muffs, Borlas on stock H and manifolds are too quiet in my opinion. It does not sound bad in my opninion though, just loud and raspy, it sounds quite nice when you get on it. Here is a link to a video i made of before and after (I like the sound, see for yourself):

I love my SLP loudmouths...I had the MAC axle backs and the Ford Racing Stingers before I finally was happy with these. I also have the Ford Racing headers and the MAC H Pipe. I get so many thumbs up on the sound. I will never go back to mufflers.

Nice set up, just saying SLP is screwing the public on the price.

I bought the Loud mouth kit for my 02 GT Vert and paid only $354 shipped. I loved the sound and so does the new owner :) You have to hear these systems in person to appreciate them.

For the same $314, the Ford Racing GTA is a better deal at $298 with 4" tips.

Found my SLP's on Ebay used for $220...shipped

I have the SLP's on mine and love them. When you are cruising around you can't even tell they are on really. The only time they get loud is when you stomp the gas pedal, then everyone will hear you coming. Very little drone at crusing speed also.

I have the Loud Mouths, and they were definately an aquired taste. When I first heard them on the car I was ready to put them in the classifieds and look for something else. Now I love the sound. IMO, they sound best from about 2,000rpm-on. Anything below that and they can start to sound like glasspacks on an old muscle car. The only thing that took some real getting used to was the constant backfiring when you let off the gas. But as I said, you'd now have to pry them out of my cold dead hands to get me to switch to something else. On a side note: if you think the Mustang is loud with no mufflers, you should hear the Loud Mouth resonators for the '05-'06 GTO. Now that's L-O-U-D!!!

I would have to agree, I love my LMs!! I nabbed mine up on ebay like new for about $240 shipped. The only time I notice any drone is right around 2500rpm, other than that it's barely noticeable unless you romp on it. I get compliments every day because of them as well. I even had a co worker say he regreted spending all that money on flows and his bassani x pipe because mine sounds so much better. To each his own.
