I attended the state fair of texas yesterday, and in the autoshow there is a saleen booth. Now then, they have a black s281 stang, a black f150, and a metallic grabber orange glassback s281 stang. I asked the guy if i could enter the ropes and look at the orange glassback, he looked at me like who are you until i told him that i have production number 4339 2005 stang born in September of 04 and because i have been considering this mod. I have to say, i have never experienced anything like that in my life in a car. It makes a vert feel like something a child should play with. I felt like a could have a full 360 degree view of life with a glassback and it took away any feeling of constraint you could ever feel in a car. This is by far the coolest mod on earth and i will absolutely be having one installed on my 05 GT. Go to the fair, give yourself some street cred with stang ownership and experience it, as you will not be dissapointed.

You live in Dallas Texas and you really think it will be the coolest mod on earth?

Also, the glass is temper shielded. And the glass does that neat little trick some folks prescription glasses do when the sun is in direct contact, it dims. When the sun is gone it lightens up. Cool huh

It is not lighter than the stock roof, but it does make the car a little more rigid because of the lack of flex. I was reading about that i think on this forum when the cdc glassback first came out. so at the track it could help a bit while you are looking so much more stylish.

I saw this at Ford Carlisle this year. I was really excited about it, but for the price I don't think it's worth it. Maybe if it was around 1k or so, but for 4-5 I'd rather get a supercharger. Also, I was not very impressed with the construction of the black trim. It almost felt like wood covered with a black textured plastic. I think it would look better if the new trim was body color and smooth, not textured.

Just my .02 though :D
