Is there a difference between the 99-00 GT Intake Manifold from the 01-04?

The 99-00 intakes are all plastic. There is a recall because they have had a tendency to crack. In 01 and on the added an aluminum crossover in the front where the alternator mounts to prevent the cracking. I dont think upgrading is neccessary unless you are really worried about the intake cracking. As far as i know there isnt really any power difference.

I don't know of a power improvement only a fix for the cracking plastic coolant runner. Improvement is the aluminum coolant runner which is now also available for the pre-99s. But no power improvement.

Ford got their asses sued off for the plastic runner... and not just for Mustangs.

I took my car to a performance shop and I had mentioned the cracking issue since I do have the plastic manifold. Anyway he said he has a billet ford racing intake manifold and the cost is 650 plus 2 hours in labor. He also said it's good for 25 at the tire. The 650 includes the installation kit etc.. The thing is I cannot find this $650 dollar part anywhere...is he ripping me off?

I dunno how he is getting the bullitt intake for $300 less than any other place sells it.

Bullitt intakes don't really do much at all. They only way you'd see a gain of 25 rwHP is if you are supercharged. When boosted, the intake gives a huge gain. For N/A though, 5-10HP....15 a stretch if you have cams, a bigger TB and full exhaust.

For $650, you'd notice gears more..but unsure if you have those already

The intake on my '99 GT cracked at 110,000 miles last January, Ford covered it under warranty and replaced it with one with the aluminum crossover. Cost $1.97 Coolant disposal fee, aparently last december Ford settled a class action suit on this issue and extended the warranty coverage to 7 years from first sale. My car was at 6 years and 9 months when it cracked lucky me.
