Yes it does.
I just got mine 2 weeks ago, and it works great!

Nice:D With the 3.73 speed calibrator is that gonna mess with my rpm gauge at all? Like am I going to be a 5k rpms and it read 3500k or anything? Because I have 4.10'sin it.

With the speed cal, you can set it up for any gear ratio you want, even ones you never heard of, you can even set up different rim/tire size combinations with it via a bunch of switches inside the box. Its not too hard and it comes with instructions so dont worry :)
Its a cool tool....

EDIT:
And once its installed, the speedo the rpms and your mileage will all read correctly too heh

I am pretty sure it's only the 96's that the SCT2's don't change the speedo for.

that don't even make sense. ford has not used a cable speedo in these cars since 1993. A lot of people think because the 94-98 cars have a mechanical readout that it must have a cable driven speedo. this is false it's a elctronic speedo and thats a ectronic controled analog readout.

Does anybody know WHY the 1996 mustangs are not able to be corrected by the SCT2.

You can only fix the speedo for gears with a SCT2 on 99+ Mustangs. Us 94-98 guys have to use a speedcal.

It resides in the shifter area. Some pics below in the install guide.
