Ever notice how, when called on it, street racers alway claim they were on the lonliest stretch of highway in the entire county? Yeah, riiiiighhhht...

Two questions: was it dark out and how old are you?

Stop being such a dick. What are you some kind of cop and if you are go get a real job. Let the man tell his story. We dont need the father role here. I beleive the disclaimer for signing up as a member stated taht you had to be 18 years of age and that means that everyone here is an adult. Everyone knows that consequences of street racing so no one wants to hear your morality correct crap.

So please let the man tell his story and go somewhere else and preach that garbage somewhere else. Do tell as I am listening.

so you're saying that it's wrong to preach (in this case, preaching against street racing), yet you're preaching us about how it is cool to street race and then tell the world about it. there is so much irony and hypocracity on so many level in your statement

Look what I am saying is very simple. I dont believe in treating people like children. If you are old enough to drive then you are old enough to assume responsibility for whatever you do.

We, and I think I speak for most people here, signed up to this forum because it is just that a public forum. Now that also means that you are entitled to preach but I didnt sign up for stangnetpreachyourmoralsandethicalvaluesonstreetracing.com. I signup to stanget.com which is a site about mustangs which might include from time to time what people do with their mustangs. This might include illegal street racing which everyone here knows that its just that ILLEGAL. So for you to start preaching about it is a waste of time and not to mention that you are taking attention from the main thread which by the way was the entire reason why I was here to begin with. I actually did want to hear this mans story regardless of how wrong it may be.

If you are wondering whether I would race 130 miles an hour on a street, the answer is no. Have I street raced before, the answer is absolutely yes. I was younger. Would I do it today? Maybe I really dont know, however I do know the responsibility that comes along with street racing and I am sure this man knows them to.

If you want to preach start a new thread called "Preaching on street racing. Why you shouldnt do it". I guarantee that I will not go into that thread but others that agree will.

Just my two cents.

I would say he was modded...thats why even if your driving a race car you always reply to the question when asked: what have you done to it?

answer: meh, its mostly stock. (ie. stock wipers, stock door locks, stock blinkers ect.)

and street racing is only illegal if your caught.

Actually you guys there was study that showed that men got into more accidents then women but women caused more accidents then men. I cant remember where it was that I had seen that.

Just my two cents.

bottom line is it bothers the heck out of me whenever i see these wreckless threads. i was on this board ever since i was sixteen and initially when reading all the street racing threads, i thought it was sort of cool and nothing bad could happen. fast forward to my junior year in high school, two freshman girls were walking home from school when when one of the two cars that were racing on the street lost control and basically flew on the sidewalk killing those two girls instantly.

and three weeks ago, about two blocks from my house, some dude died while street racing.

street racing left a bitter taste in my mouth. am i being an annoying jackass by hi-jacking these reckless threads with my lecture? most definitely!

do i want anyone to die when they street race? hell no! or else why would i be an annoying prick by hijacking this thread.

as for the dude who listed events of drunk diving that ended in deaths, i hope it wasn't an attempt at mockery, because you don't see anyone drive while intoxicated and then go on the internet and brag about it.

Oh age has a lot to do with it. The more experience you have driving the more in control of your car you will be. The simple fact of the matter is that with each decade of driving experience you gain more skill, wisdom, and common sense.
You know I was with you but come on. By your statement that means the freaking blue hairs that can't see over the steering wheel get on the interstate and drive 25mph causing everyone to emergency brake and try to avoid them are the BESTEST drivers.
You forgot for ever decade behind the wheel your reaction times slow down. Unless your one of those luck few, which most of us aren't.
Also for ever decade the bad driving habits become more naturally than they should. How many people that have 10+years of driving still drive with 2 hands on the wheel? How many with 20+ years?
The reason alot of kids get in over their head is they have watched they're family drive most of their lives and are trying to do the same. How many women do you see doing their makeup while driving?
How about how many people almost sideswipe me daily cause they are on thier cell phone?
How many times have I seen someone get in a wreck because they were messing with the radio?

Kids see all of those bad habits and try to do the same.
I've said for years that you should have to retake the driving part of a DL ever 10 years or so. Just to make sure that you do follow the laws and that you are in fact a good safe driver.

For the record...

We tend to frown on these stories because of not only the illegality of going 130MPH on a public road but also because there are many impressionable people here who may not be experienced in handling a high HP car. Leaving a thread open long enough to get opposing views to the subject helps to show that many people do not approve of such actions as was stated here.

Most of us know that driving fast on the street is dangerous and could lead to dire consequenses. It is the younger generation who watch these movies of TV shows who wind up thinking this is like a cartoon and will not get hurt. All threads of this type are not bad becasue you can learn from it. I'm just greatful no one was hurt with this particular incident and would suggest in the future to :Track:
