By a premium wax just for wheels! RIMWAX™ & Polish by Smartwax, is a unique product for wheels. It's formulated with a unique, non-stick technology and anti-static guard to deflect brake dust, dirt and abrasives!

Rimwax delivers a brilliant shine and protective shield for clear-coated alloy, chrome and aluminum wheels. It's highly prized by customers with show vehicles and by those wanting more protection against the elements.

I've always used a wax from Griots on my wheels and it really helps keep them from getting as dirty and makes them a lot easier to clean when they do. I remove the wheels from the car and give them a real good clean inside and out them put a good coat of wax on them. Depending upon the type of wheel you can then easily clean the entire wheel using the appropriate brushes.

I prefer using Mothers Pure Carnauba paste wax on bare alloys and chrome (as well as plastic chrome). Like like Meg's #26, it's got no cleaners, but the paste is easier to use for me than the liquid (which Mothers also makes).

I don't know about not holding up... wheels do get abused, but the level of abuse can vary a lot depending on many factors.

Though really, my preferred product for chrome would be a chrome polish like Mothers that is very mild and leaves a light coating of polymer protection.
