FUEL PUMP

where is this ckeck valve at? in the tank or on an external line?
I wanted to know the pump size because I need to know at which
point a larger pump will be needed.
I plan on porting the heads, cams ect.
my old 93gt made 367rwhp and I want to get this at
the motor on my 07

i dont know why youd ask but my next mod will be to remove the check valve on the fuel pump, its a big restriction. its a white squareish thing.

Well that will let the fuel drain from the system(lines, fuel rail, etc) and allow the pressure to bleed off of the system (drain back into the tank when the vehicle is off). The fuel rail pressure sensor will see the increase in fuel pressure (if any) with the vehicle running and lessen the Pulse width of the fuel injectors. If you could remove the check valve is not going to do anything but make you cycle the key a lot in the morning to build fuel pressure in the system. When this check valve in the fuel pumps go bad people complain of long cranking times for the vehicle to start, because there is no residual fuel pressure in the system (Because it has all bleed down back to the fuel tank). Were you kidding or something? Also the white squarish thing is called a strainer, it is there so large contaminants don't get in the system and block the fuel filter. The check valve is built into the fuel pump. So if the check valve goes bad you must replace the whole pump.
