ABS light stays on

brake fluid will not illuminate your ABS light.

Are you running the same size wheels/tires from back to front? IE not fats and skinnies...

Just remember when the ABS light is illuminated it indicates a problem with the system and turns it off.

First thing I would do is disconnect the battery, then carefully inspect all 4 abs sensors and clean off the magnetic ends. Reinstall, hook battery back up and see if it goes away.

if not, you may need to get someone to pull the code to see if its the sensor or the module.

Oh yeah, before ya do anything, check yer fuses!

Mine has, topped it off,and gone with the abs light. :nice:
There is a sensor on the side of the reservoir, and if your fluid isn't topped off properly,it(the fluid) will slosh forward while braking, and trip the sensor to come on.It's actually pretty common. :)

That's the brake light...brake light = red...ABS light=orange

Two different indications.

ABS light = inoperative ABS system

Brake light = E-brake engaged or Brake fluid low

:nice: Well i know that!!
....But the abs light came on!! Put fluid in it,and it no longer came on.

G'damn your fluid must've been extremely low for that to happen...or it may have been coincidence???

I know I've had ABS lights go away with just unhooking the battery...pretty finnicky system if you ask me....

Yap,it was,it was sitting just under half, this is when i first picked her up from the dealer, and i didn't pay attention, brakes did feel kind've blah!!But just figured it was just the same ol',same ol' mustang b.s brakes until i looked under the hood to the reservoir after seeing the light come on a few times.:nonono:

The ABS light can illuminate if the brake fluid is low, for example windstars when they are low on brake fluid will illuminate both. Some fords are more sensitive to how long the fluid has to be low to deactivate the abs, this is done to protect the HCU and for saftey concerns

Well I was a little misleading; what I should have said was that the brake light should illuminate well before the the ABS light. If the ABS light is illuminated due to low fluid it should be well after the brake the light would come on.
