I just bought an 89 coupe that was already built and have some questions about this set up. Its a 4 cyl conversion and the guy I bought it from did not build it so Im finding out about new stuff as I go along.

This is what I know:
built 306 w/ unk compression JE pistons ans unk rods
Vic Jr heads
Holley intake
unk valve train
24 lb injectors
ford mass air meter (could be 93 cobra not sure)
unk spec cam but it has a nice lope to it
200 shot of N2O wet

Things that make you go hmm?
Why Vic jr heads on a 306?
Why not a matching intake manifoild?
Why does the computer have no rev limit:eek:
Why are there fuel lines coming out of the pass side fender?
Why are those fuel line huge braided lines with AN fittings?
How did he get those lines on the stock fuel rails? and why
Im not going to go into detail on the nitrous set up but he ran 2 wet kits:shrug:

The car has ALOT of good parts on it. It looks like someone spared no expense when building it. It has a tubular K member w/ coilovers, rebuilt T-5,uppers+lowers,built 8.8 and a alot more that Im not going to name but Im a little confused on some of the choices the guy made. The car is obviously set up to run alot of N2o but it feels like its missing something off the bottle. (have not sprayed it yet) I want to change the mass air meter then put it on a dyno to see where she's at. All my friends are telling me to pull the nitrous off and put a blower on it. I know there is alot of info here but what do you guys think.

are they flat top pistons? If so i bet the compression is in the 10 area depending on the volume of those cylinder heads.
By the way. . . i think you should sell those heads to me!!!! haha

If I had to guess I would also say 10:1. But what about all the other stuff? Like the fuel lines, is that common with 4 cyl conversions?

yes, since the fuel lines on a 4 cylinder car feed the fuel lines from the drivers side on a 2.3 motor. . . he just re-did them so where it feeds it on the passenger side now (which is where the fittings are on a 5.0 car) I had to do the same thing on my brothers notch when i put a 5.0 in it. Just be grateful the previous owner took the time to put the high quality lines and AN fittings on, as most people southern engineer it with a plain ole rubber line
