after changing the iac, tps, spark plugs, dist. cap and rotor, cleaning my o2 sensors, and cleaning the mass air sensor....when i start to drive i don't have a problem until i come to a red light...then i start to take off...it feels like i have no power and studders until i get my rpms high enough then i have no more problems...please help.....

I'm having the same problem as you but I think a lot of it has to do with my charging system. It runs 100 times better after charging my battery than it does after running for a bit....gotta get a new alternator I suppose.

Have you tried running some fuel injector cleaner though the gas tank? If one of ur injectors isn't spraying like it should it could cause sluggish take-off until your revs get up. Either that or maybe ur fuel pump is going south on you. It seems like ur wot would suffer a lot though if this was the case.

have you changed out ur fuel filter? maybe ur air filter?...I'm assuming you have ur spark set correctly.....but just for kicks maybe you could bump ur timing up a little bit and see if that fixes nething. If nothing else you can rule that out.

It seems to me like the problem could be in ur fuel system since you changed all ur other air related stuff out and you also changed ur spark stuff out.

good luck

Have you checked your timing? that plays a big factor how the car runs even is you did all the stuff it will still not run right if the timing is off it should be at 10 degrees

badstang123, how do i check if i had a bad wire???? i also replaced all spark plugs, reset my timing more then i can remember, between 12 to 20 deg....should i put injector cleaner even if i'm using super unleaded???? i have replaced the air filter(when i put the cold air intake), but not the fuel filter......

I've heard of ppl getting a spray bottle full of water and spritzing it on the wires while the engine is running in the dark. If ur wires are having issues you should be able to notice it.

if ur wires are good then it wouldn't hurt to change that filter. And, the injector cleaner is only like 4 bux so it's worth a shot.

just a thought, maybe ur ignition module is going south on you. I don't know if they just start going bad......or if they just completely die.

The ignition wire sounds like a good place to start.

If you do the water misting, be careful of moving parts and all that. When you hit a leak, it looks like pixie dust. I've had wires leak right where the wire enters the boot (and subsequently arc to metal in the area - common on cars with a metal shroud around the plug hole).

If you feel an actual miss at idle, you can run a cylinder balance test as part of the code retrieval process. It's a real quick way to narrow down which cylinder a miss is coming from.

Good luck.

Unplug your mass air meter... if it gains alot of HP/torque you have a bad mass air meter.... mine just did this and we had been chasing it for 3 months... DO NOT RUN CAR UNPLUGGED FOR VERY LONG just check and if performance gets better unplugged its a bad sensor.

(it will run crappy around idle while this is unplugged but the Hp/torque should be there when you jump on it..)

is this a serious problem??? i went ahead and put injector cleaner in my car when i filled up and got a new fuel filter...when i pulled the old one off it had so much pressure on the line that when i pulled the in tube off gas sprayed everywhere including on me...after drying off under the car i noticed pieces from the plastic tube was falling out...apparently they are suppose to be stationed in there and i had 2 broken rubber pieces...now since i'm the only one home i'm walking up to the parts store...

tell you what...i got 4 o rings...i broke 2 putting them in the tube and while putting the filter on....even after all i still had a leak...so this is what i did...i put the 2 plastic pieces in place, i then put the rubber o ring in between the 2 plastic pieces, then used my last one on the out side and then( rigging it) put a washer behind the o ring to make sure there was pressure the keep the fuel from going out....awwww, then no more leak......i know what to do next time....

actually haven't noticed it since...i'll let you know tomorrow after letting it sit all night....but i had to retime it...my rpms dropped below 500 and died...so i timied it up to 14 deg to see what happens...it felt like more power though after revving it...but i'll see.....

same problem here
new ignition, dist n cap, tune up, n so on ..... but when just starting off from a red light or stop sign it would jerk, my rpms and my voltage would drop and then kick back up again n the car runs fine ..... seems lik the fuel filter??
ps-i have my timing at 14 and i fill up 93, as a habit from my old stang i always add the fuel cleaner .... should i do it even with 93 n does that clear up clogs in the fuel filter??
