I have always used centerforce clutches in my car and they have been ok but i have never been real happy with them. And now with my new setup for next year i would like to find a clutch that can handle the power! It looks like my new setup will be in the 650hp range and im curious what you guys have experimented with and are happy with....

I do have a couple 03 cobra friends putting down over 600RWHP and they are running the centerforce DFX clutch and they are hooking just fine but they find them to be very grabby for the street. Im not too overly concerned about that but im just curious what other people have found!:canada:

Thanks

I run a SPEC stage 3 clutch in my car, with a 6 puck ceramic disc. The clutch is great it has a bit of a heavy pedal and somewhat of a grab to it when engaging. You can throw tons of power to these things w/o slip and they will last. Also, with a ceramic disc these will grab hard and have a longer life(compared to carbon).

I run a spec stage II in my car. I know i dont have anywhere near 650hp..but i love the spec clutch. It is a heavier clutch pedal and it is grabby...but thats what i like about it. Its a neck snapper! What i like most is the pedal action...its very precise. the clutch engages in only about 2 -3 inches unlike the 6 inches on a stock clutch. i have heard good things about the stage III aswell but it will come on like a lightswitch! good luck

I have only used Center Force DFX in my three cars.
1. 95 Procharged GT over 400RWHP
2. 96 Vorteched Cobra over 400RWHP
3. 91 Notch stock.

These are the smooth easy to push in and hold very well. My 2 supercharged cars have been down the track countless times and take a lot of abuse on the street. I love those. I will never use another clutch, no matter what!!!!

Im going to look into it some more. I have driven my buddies cobras and i like the pedal pressure and engagment. Plus if i go with the DFX i will only need to buy the disc. But i still would like to drive a car with a spec clutch.

Thanks guys!
