Body Panels?

I've been driving this car for a while now while my DD gets an engine replacement and the beat up quarter panel is really bugging me. Do you guys know where I can find a replacement driver's rear quarter panel? It got "tapped" by a big rig in a previous life. There is also rust in the doors and hatch, but I can get those cheap at the local junkyard. Thanks.

what i meant to explain is, unless you go find a mustang at a junkyard, cut the whole qtr piece off that you need, then re-weld the piece on.... it probably wont be fixed, its all one piece. now older mustangs had qtr panels that could be un-bolted and put new ones on, but not fox's

is yours a hatch, coupe or vert??
 
Its a hatch. I want to replace it because the dent covers the entire panel from the door to the tail lights and from the window to the bottom. The accident broke the window too, I keep finding glass. And since it happened a while ago and no one did anything about it its pretty rusty. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to resort to the junkyard but I guess it'll be cheaper that way anyways. Now I just have to find a decent mustang in the junkyard, being michigan that aint easy.

yea it definatly sucks, i was rear ended this summer and the rear qtr of my notch is all fubar
 
Rear quarter panels on these cars have to be cut out and welded back in. I'm sure somebody makes replacement ones but you'll pay a pretty penny. You'll likely have to find one in a junkyard, but again the whole thing has to be cut out and welded back on by somebody who really knows what they're doing.

Which Mustang had bolt on rear quarter panels? FYI, they were unibody too. ;)

At one time these parts were available from Ford, but those days are long gone. I don't hink anyone has picked up the ball on fox-body sheetmetal. You could try Keystone, but fitment has always been an issue with aftermarket sheetmetal. As others have stated, a donor is the best bet. You can get exactly the piece you need and as long as it was cut out right, should fit like it was meant to be there.

yea, wasnt sure about that

anyways, i have no intentions of fixing my stang, the poor thing just isnt worth it, i could get a GT for the amount of money i'd have to put into it...
 
In 1999 the quarter was available. One was grafted onto my passenger side. I have no clue if they are available now, but it was then.

yeah keystone or 50resto or SortaFit (I mean certifit)
Otherwise maybe try www.stangparts.com I know they are parting stangs all the time. Otherwise it might almost be cheaper to find a complete donor car like was suggested or see if a bodyshop will help you deal with a salvage piece (some will some wont).
 
man, i aint joking, i am driving my car up to you glowstang when i start on my cosmetics part of my car, and i will pay you to help me find a place to paint/align my cobra body kit...and take pictures too, you always take the coolest pictures

The bodyman that did mine isn't even doing body work now, he is about the same age as me, in his mid 30's now. He did an excellent job, but it cost the insurance company plenty, $5200. I stopped in almost every day to take pics when it was in the shop. I'm lucky, I have a body shop and a mechanic that know how particular I am about my baby. They take the utmost care when working on her. I actually detailed cars at the body shop for a month when I was between jobs. Man, I can make the dirtiest cars look good when they are done (small brag).

Where are u from anyway?
