reason why i asked was because i think mines is going on me...it may just need new u-joints...i got some vidration and clunking
That's standard even on a brand new 03/04 Terminator! There is a SSM for the vibration problem. If the car is still under warranty they can try re-indexing the drive shaft to reduce the vibration, or if it's really bad they will replace it. As for the clunking.... welcome to the wonderful world of the T-56 coupled with the IRS rear end. All Terminators have drive-line slop and clunk unfortunately.

all mustangs for that matter. My GT clunks worse than the Cobra, but its still something that you either deem unacceptable and get a different car, or just chalk it up for fords better idea and live with it.

well.... i've had plenty of headaches about driveshafts lately...

i got a FRPP aluminum driveshaft for my 98 cobra (the car that was originally getting the gears installed) and never did the install.
got the 01 cobra, and realize they don't have a FRPP al. d/s for 99+ cobras.
from researching i find out that it needs to be shortened one inch and rebalanced then it should be fine.........
$250 or so for d/s off ebay somewhere..
then i get charged $241 for the cut and balance...
put it in the cobra.. it wobbles..
bring it back to the d/s shop... tell me it's a bad flange.. i love how they didnt notice that the first time! i gotta pay another $33 for a new flange.

in short, go get a carbon fiber because modifying pos ford parts ain't worth it.
and it's currently sitting my garage and i have the stock one in now!
Nothing like a $524 Ford Aluminum Driveshaft......:bang: :owned:
