This is more of an either or thing. I have a chance to get an 05 gt, but they won't be out till september, and the 04 Cobra is out now. I know the price is way different, but which would you rather have. I have a 99 GT now, and I'm ready to get rid of it. I can either wait till September and have a GT, or go out and get a Cobra. Can't do both, so which would you pick...

I'd choose the GT. The Cobra has the same dated interior as they were making in 94, and the quality bites. Add that together with all of the mechanical difficulties, and I'd wait for the new platform. Power is nice, but for a daily driver I would want something without all the headaches.

That's one of the things I was wondering about. How much of a difference is there going to be in the two interior wise. Also, there's about 90 to 125 more horsepower in the cobra than the GT, and it's an 8000 difference. If I added a supercharger to the GT when it came out, say for around 4000 and chipped it, could I have it up to about the same HP?

It's pretty early to speculate on how the 3V in the GT will respond to a blower, but I'd guess it'll do alright, based on the 2V. Everything I've heard about the interior of the 05 suggests that it'll be an order of magnitude better than the SN95.

so did he get a coba or stang GT? i know it was 2 years ago but i am just curious.. i have 06 stang GT and i am thinking of selling my GT and get a 03/04 cobra.. those things are sexy and beast..

so which kind of mechanical problems cobra have? what are all those headaches?? i would love to know....

Dont know about the thread starter, but keep the 06. If its power you want, put a blower on it. Terminators are dyno queens in most cases.

oh.. so they put down good numbers but in reality they do not run as good? also they hold their value pretty good.. i love my stang but i am still in the middle...

Why not go for the best of both worlds and drop the Terminator engine/tranny right in your S197. Sure it has an iron block that would add weight to an already
heavy car, but you could drop on a KenneBell or other twin screw-style supercharger and easily get around 700 RWHP.

a gt with a 8-10 psi (any SC) will beat a stock cobra. plus you will save 4K and have a better ride and interior. If you want to go even faster then forge your block for another 2-3K and bring up the boost.

what do you talking about saving 4k???? i S/C including installation is close to 6-7 grand and plus i ant racing strpies and wheels & wide meats.. these are a lot.. a cobra already has S/C in it and with just exhaust, CAI and pulley upgrade youa re 450rwhp. and i can sell my car and get a cobra with losing NO money..
