Once again, my jack took a crap. I've got 5 dead jacks in my garage now. I need to find a jack that will last. So far, I have killed a Craftsman, two AC Delcos, an MIT, and just now an OTC jack. I'm sick of these things only lasting MAYBE a year at a time. Anyone have any suggestions for a nice, high-reaching racing floor jack? I am used to having at least 20" of lift height. I've been looking at some of the low jacks, but their lift height sucks. Anyone have any suggestions? :SNSign:

What exactly are you doing with your jacks man? I have 2 craftsman floor jacks that are 5 years old that are used alot and never had a problem with them. Just buy a regular jack and not the aluminum ones..

the sunex 6602asj is a good racing jack...it's imported, but it's been a decent jack.

i sell automotive tools and, to be honest....and i'm not saying this about you....but most of the time it's just that the user doesn't take care of the jack...or is abusing it and not using it for it's intended purpose....

for example, a racing jack isn't made to be used all day, everyday...a lot of the problems with racing jacks come from tool guys selling them to guys who put them on wreckers (tow trucks)

that being said...craftsman should give a new jack...and, depending on which OTC jack you have.... both the 1503 and the 1504 (imported, regular - not racing jacks) have a "no hassle warranty"...so wherever you got them should just give you a new one --- provided it's within a year...and if they say they can't do that...they are lying.

thanks.

The Craftsman jacks have a 1 year warrenty. I have a dead one in my utility room now that was less than a year when it went out but I couldn't locate the reciept. before you say "It's a Craftsman" that lifetime warrenty is only on thier hand tools. I'm on my second one and it has lasted about 2 years now.

Exactly. Mine was just out of warranty when it went. I use my jacks ALOT. I keep them filled, and clean. They just start leaking after a while from everywhere, and eventually stop lifting. Most of the time, they leak from the lower valve. I've tried resealing them, tinkering with the valves, all kinds of stuff, but they never come back to life.

My OTC was a 1732 3 ton. I'm currently looking at an American Forge 200T.
