Well i'm back from the track now and first off let me mention that it's effing freezing outside.

I met up with HoustonGT and Deftsound there--not too sure about speedfreak (there was a silver 96-98 there, though had stock rims and didn't come up to us). Nice meeting you guys by the way.

I'm sure the guys will chime in with their own times though I had a nice night out. I ended up running quite a few times with the times being all over the place. The cold weather definitly was a factor with hooking up, especially with my worn down wal-mart tires :rlaugh:

I went out there hoping for a 14.85, however my previous best was a 15.14 (before the hpipe change).

I'll show my best 4 runs and mention my worst :rlaugh:

First run of the night :nice:
RT: .280
60: 2.165
330: 6.175
1/8: 9.464
MPH: 75.38
1000: 12.302
1/4: 14.700
MPH: 93.62

RT:.274
60: 2.248
330: 6.241
1/8: 9.522
MPH: 75.46
1000: 12.351
1/4: 14.749
MPH: 93.71

RT: .271
60: 2.237
330: 6.241
1/8: 9.527
MPH: 75.28
1000: 12.359
1/4: 14.758
MPH: 93.71

For what it's worth- the last 2 14.7s came as the last two runs for the night. That was after I put the spare/jack back into the car. The first run had the spare in aswell, while the others didn't. I guess the extra weight helped back there

I had a few other passes with a 14.802, 14.886, 14.925, 14.942 and sadly my worst run was against Mike (HoustonGT). This is sig worthy :rlaugh: I drove through the water box and just didn't get the water off good enough I guess. I planned on treeing him to see how close I could keep the run since he was running 13s and I clearly wasn't close. It resulted like this:

RT: .067 (not too bad of a light)
60': 2.707 (too bad I didn't have traction afterwards:owned: )
330: 7.297 (after spinning all the way through first and shifting into second, I was still spinning at 4500 rpm in second so I let off to avoid being slung into a wall  )
1/8: 10.784 :rlaugh:
MPH: 72.33
1000: 13.698 (probably what Mike ended with inthe 1/4)
1/4: 16.139
MPH: 92.23 (didn't trap bad considering I spun for so long then let off for quite some time to straighten up and catch traction)

:bang: sorry for not atleast giving somewhat of a challenge :)

Yea, bad ass run against me there :nice:
We had a good time, but the car was just acting weird. I was in 13.7's and 13.8's all night. Time for some Drag Radials.
Every single 60' i had was a 2.0, but my trap speeds were down for some reason. I'm at 56k, so i'll change out the plugs and see if it livens it up a bit. Don't know if deftsound finally got his 13.7 run or not but it was almost too cold to hook as i spun pretty badly into 2nd each time. The one time i finally did well in the 8th, i somehow crapped out on my 3-4 shift.
I have a slip of where i trapped freakin 82.88mph in the 1/8 mile. Thats better than my 13.59 run a week ago by 1.8mph
its like the car was just lacking in the 2nd half of the track and i can't explain it. Guess its hard to compare 2 different tracks.
All in all, it was a good time and maybe next time we'll go to Sealy where you can get alot more runs in and pray for good track prep :nice:

I'll stick with my HRP :rlaugh:

The track wasn't prepped nice tonight like it usually is, but once again if you didn't notice, the "regular" workers weren't out there tonight. There would have been something done about the launches if they were there.

It was just too cold for you guys to stick the shifts without spinning. I was even catching some spin when hitting second and im in a lousy 180 horsepower automatic :rlaugh:

With these times, it makes me want my pi cams in even sooner :nice: I'll be running with you soon enough.

Also, not sure if you got to see it or not, though I got to run against the civic that wasn't launching worth a damn. I had him at the 1000' mark, though he flew past me after that. He trapped 118 on the run against me and only managed a 13.98 :D

I also got 2 good runs in with a red mustang (looked stock) and won the first by a car, and lost the 2nd by 1/2 a car. I lack the top end :)

yea i got in 4 runs, never did get back in the 13's :( I hit a 14.3 first, 14.2 second, and then 14.0 and 14.0

I ended up coming away with more questions than answers although i did finally learn how to do a proper burnout, but my car wasent acting quit right and after my third run my h pipe vibrated loose of my catback causing me to hav ea huge exhaust leak so my car sounded like a dumptruck half the night.

But it seemed like my car was bogging down, im used to launching at around 2300 and droppin the clutch, it seemed like last night after my h pipe got disconnected i was bogging like hell even at 2800rpm and never could get my 60ft down.

Ask HoustonGT about the 03 cobra that he had to run :rlaugh: It wasn't too pretty for him.

There were a few 03 cobras there running nice times :nice:

KT--You think you'll ever see a drag strip atleast once with the Cobra?

I'm not surprised the track wasn't hooking, LSMP was closed due to the temps. I went there tonight and came away with a 13.6 et @102 mph. Some guys from WSM were there and it was only 10 dollars to race. Next time you guys go let me know....... I'll problably be at Lone star on the 16th.

I think i'll be waiting a while until I run again. I don't want to go back and be forced to chase my best time.. It's more fun when each time you go out, you leave with a new best ;)

I need to add a few things to the car (really looking forward to a pi swap).

Nice times, what side of Houston are you on?
