And I can't even put into words what a relief it is. I've been struggling to find decent work after being wounded and leaving the military. I joined out of high school and served as an airborne infantryman, so I'm the "no college, no real world experience" guy at this point. Unless I went into law enforcement, which didn't really appeal to me, despite growing up in a family of police officers.

Anyway, starting out at $15.52 an hour, with pay raises every 6mos. I'm very excited about the job... Hopefully it will lead into a career as a lineman (they offer an apprenticeship) and I'll finally have a new direction after the Army.

Anyway, just thought someone here might know someone that works there, or works there themselves...and I was thrilled, so I thought I'd share. I start this Monday.

Sure will, who is Erin?

Does anyone know if they provide jackets/boots? Or compensate for them?

Trying to plan my Xmas list in case they don't provide those two necessities!

Thanks for the kind words, gents.

Congrats! I am not sure how they do it now, but I can tell you a while ago they did not offer compensation for boots and what not. My father has worked for PGE for 26 years now and did the apprenticeship. Just an FYI, the divorce rate among lineman is as high or higher than that of law enforcement.... I know I am sounding like a downer but I just wanted you to know so you can prepare! Its really a good company to work for, so congrats!!!
