I have a 05 Saleen with the 20" Chrome wheels. I'm having a hard time with keeping the wheels looking like they use to. They are starting to loose there luster.

I live near the Ocean and I think the salt has somthing to do with it.
Part of the reason I'm scared to polish them is the **** chrome polish I tried to use started to scratch.
What can I use as a safe, proven way to shine these babies up.
P.S. I'm going to Silver Springs ford show in a couple of weeks needs to looks sweet!

i use 0000 steel wool on chrome, its the finest you can get. Or use a fine metal polish, most chrome poliches are meant for bumpers that have a heavy durable chrome, the wheels are more delicate. If they start looking real bad, i would get them warrentied before its too late.

I'd recommend Mothers Chrome Polish -- it's very mild and gives a nice blue look to your chrome. As a bonus it provides protection to help keep them clean.

You can also use it with a PowerBall, and it's also great for glass -- use a clean ball on your glass before doing the wheels.

Tip: Dress your tires/rubber before polishing.

I've had a couple people recommend the 0000 steel wool but I don't feel confident enough with rubbing wool on my wheels.
I went out and purchased the Mothers chrome polish and it maybe the easiest product to use, and it works great. Wipe on wipe off.
I'm use to using products that take a lot of rubbing just to remove the crap after you put it on. Not the case with the Mothers. It turned into a powder in like a minute and left an incredible shine. like looking at yourself in a fun house mirror.
Thanks for the help!
