I was wondering if anyone had any info on those gizmos that look like a little power inverter that you hook up to your car that emits an electrical current that is supposed to prevent rust and protect the entire body and chassis from rust. I have only seen them advertised in canadian tire and it offers little info on how it works. The price is 150-300$. Anyone seen these or know anything about them?

it sounds like powder coating your talking bout .oh oh oh nevermind im thinking of smthg else YEAH i seen those lil gizmos before the keep the rust from or molecules from negative charges or smthg like that i dont really know sorry bout that

I don't intend to buy it I was just wondering about it's performance, usefullness etc or wether it was b.s. $300 seemed like alot to not perform and crappy tire is rather reputable(as compared to an ebay scam). If it worked it would be good for a brand new vehicle for sure. Any vehicle really, if it worked.

I remember canadian tire selling those years ago. The product was taken off the market and has recently been reintroduced. Canadian tire does not swear by it or offer any guarantees whatsoever. To date I have not seen any studies and/or scientific proof/analysis that support its claims. Personally I don't think it works.

I wouldnt waste your money on one of those gizmos.I get my car rust protected at Krown Rustproofing every year for $99.Its the best $99 you could spend on your car if you drive it year round like i do.:canada:

what do they do to it? i need to look into this someone told me today i have surface rust developing, and i need to spray it with wd40 and wipe it down to prevent it.

My brother's Neon had one. The cables connecting it to the battery and ground corroded.

Thats how well it works- it cant even stop itself from corroding.

That is the kind of answer I wanted. I was questioning the products supposed "results". I just thought people would complain if it was junk, and apparently like stated above it was taken of the market, likely cause it's junk. Not that other retailers have not sold junk prducts before, I just thought Canadian Tire would avoid the troubles, feedback of selling questionable products. And like stated this is not 19.99 it is 299.99 for the "best" one.
I agree with the POR 15 but that is for chassis, frame etc this is said to protect the body too, or entire vehicle from rusting. The add only shows a pic of a rusted fender, one with the product....no rust, the other without the super electrical protective shield.......of course rusted.
Again I had no intentions of buying this I just wondered about it's effectiveness. I am sure more than one person will shell out the $300. Like I said earlier if it worked it would be good. But I guess it is another case of "too good to be true".

They completely spray the under carriage, inside the doors, trunk lid, hood, around the window moldings...you name it, they spray it.They are very thorough when they spray.Another good thing is that it lubricates alot of stuff....example parking brake, door locks, etc.I notice it gets rid of alot of squeaks and stuff also.Well worth the money imo.:nice:
