Has anyone heard about ford. And them selling the rights to the mustang to toyota. My brothers father-in-law is a business lawyer and keeps up on corporate mergers and aqusitions and things like that. He says that with ford's financial troubles the company has sold the mustang to toyota in someway. Just wondering the actual story and whats going on

Your uncle is an brother's fathers' sisters cousin is an idoit. Next question please.

That would be a funny thing to do after Ford spent all that money to go after parts manufacturers, suppliers, magazines and shops that use the Mustang name............oh God, I'm actually posting on this thread! I only clicked on it in the first place for the laughs. By the way, your brother's father-in-law didn't use to post here under the name ExCon, did he?

Where have you been Rip Van Winkle? Ford has rebates on Mustangs, including the GT. There are rebates on both 2007 models AND left over 2006s that STILL have not sold, even though 2006 production ended 6 months ago.

Well when i bought mine about 8 months ago there was nothing whatsoever available in regard to a discount on the GT, apparently that has changed.

In fact even here in MI there were not so many of them available. I was unable to find the combination of options that i wanted and had to settle and i looked everywhere in the state including Chicago.

:D Y'all can laugh and speculate all you want, but you're 20 or so years too late. :rlaugh: Toyota DID make a Celica that was an obvious rip off of the 70 Stang. I don't recall the year models, but I did see them around back in the late 70's or early 80's. I saw one survivior just last week somewhere in Louisiana or east Texas.:nice:

I had a '76 Celica GT Fastback. It did remind me of the older Mustangs as well. Here are some pics from the net. I don't have any pics of mine.
