Anyone with 255/50/17 tires?

Instead of getting aftermarket rims, I am thinking that 255/50/17 tires will look much better on my stock aluminum rims, than the stock P-Zeros do now.

Does anyone have pictures with this combo?

Here's what it looks like now (the before view):

Jeff, I have 255/50/17 Nitto 450's on the "Concept Wheels" and they fit fine and look much better than stock. They are not on my car right now because I have an extra set of wheels (Bullitts) for winter driving. I can snap a picture of them this Weekend with them off of the car if you would like.

Careful with those tires manystangs...I know the size may fit perfect but if you look, the Nitto 450's are snow and mud tires! I bought a set of 17 X 9 bullet wheels on ebay and the tires came with the wheels. Might work for the winter but terrible traction in the summer. The backend would never hookup! Bought a set of Kumho Ecstas within 2 weeks to replace the 450's. Oh what a difference.

I'm aware of that, but why the caution? They are a speed rated tire and they did fine in the Summer.

Yes that would be great. Could you get a side view shot comparing the stock size with the 255's. Thanks...:nice:

Nitto now makes a 255/50 17 for their 555s too, but I am running the 450s as well. The dry traction isn't bad, but it isn't great either. Wet traction for the 450s is great IMO. Finally the fact that they are 255 over the stock 235 made a noticeable difference in lateral grip performance.

They are all-season tires that have a M+S rating to them, meaning I think they barely passed the requirements necessary for a M+S rating. They don't handle the snow as well as tires specifically designed for snow.

I probably won't get the 450s again because the 555s are available. Nitto didn't have the 255/50-17s in the 555s when I originally bought the 450s, but now I have the 450s so I will use them.

Rock, I could not have said it better myself. That is an excellent description of their performance. I don't really race my car other than a few passes down the 1/4 mile. That is interesting about the 555's in the 255/50/17, definately a better performance tire but with a disadvantage in inclimate weather and mine is a daily driver.

I've got 255/50 nittos up front and 275/50's on the back. Send me your email and I'll send you a couple of pics. I don't have very good pics of the front, but I have better pics of the rear..

I tried to post some pics but my photos are too large. Send me your email address and I'll send you whatever pics I have.

the easiest way to post large pics is to use a photohosting site. (photobucket, etc.) use the supplied links from the host, and past the links here. i know photobucket will supply you with codes that already have the
coding, so all you have to do is copy/paste the link in that format.
