sell fox for 03-04 cobra

  • Sponsors (?)

I owned a yellow 04 cobra for about 5 months before finally finding a nice fox. I sold the cobra and had regrets for a bit, but now I want to sell the fox too. If I had it to do over though, I would have saved myself the money and never bought the cobra. It was the funnest car I have ever drove or rode, but the price and insurance just isnt really worth it. Find a friend who has one and drive it occassionally. Other than that, i like my fox the best. There is just no replacement for a clean, nice, heavily modded fox. I am only selling due to financial needs. Just my .02cents

Get them both, that's what I did!! I love the Fox, they are my favorite Mustang and I will never sell it. But they just can't compare the the Cobra. Tons of power, car is much tighter, smoother to drive, engine is a lot smoother, no interior rattles or squeeks. Just a pulley and a tune away from 450 rwhp. Just get them both and have the best of both worlds. Although I'm toying with the idea of selling the Cobra and getting a GT500. Hmmmm....

I prefer a big-bore pushrod engine over a small bore/shorter deck height 4 valve... modulars have a severely limited displacement potential which in turn limits power output on pump gas. Besides I've already invested too much blood sweat and $$$ in mine (I'd add tears but I never cry)

I had a 04' Terminator and sold it in September to save some extra money and then picked up a 93' LX because I just could not be out of the game completely:flag: While the 04' cobra was a monster I enjoy driving the LX more....louder, lopey, and just feels faster even though it is not. The cobra is so refined, sneaky fast where you feel all the power in a fox body. It really depends on why you are selling, but sometimes I miss my snake. Pic below for old times sake.

I knew this guy who used to live down my street and he had two foxes; even had a bobtail bronc at one time.

his two foxes were a notch that he had redone and he then sold his 45K miles 1989 GT that was a sweet Fox as well.

Then he got a crown vic for like 2200 sold it, bought a 2001 Gt...sold it and picked up a 97 grand marquis and now he wants a terminator.

On top of all that he picked on me for always having three cars at my fingertips...some guys I tell ya.

I think he should test drive an S197 then compare that to a fox platform.

I have had the opportunity to drive several S197's and shoot, I would even buy an Auto because it runs that well.

Gear, converter, full exhaust would net 12's on nuts...(just like we used to bitch about the LS1 cars) aside from the LS1 comment add a turbo to the 05+ for high tens.

If I didn't have to buy my wife a new vehicle, for about the price he is looking to spend on a terminator, I would have picked up an S197 and drove it to his house so he could feel the difference.

For those of you who empathetically say "YES!!!!" because of the power they lay down, are you not considering the costs you'll end up paying? The way some of you are talking it's like the question was "would you trade your Fox for an 03 Cobra straight up". For the money you'd end up paying FOR the Cobra, you could put into the Fox and stomp it

Notchback93 you crack me up we got to get together......DR WU 2000 now I know svtperformance.com thats where I have seen ur posts

Get a built short block for the notch, paint the engine compartment while you are at it and after all that do like the guy down the street and add an S-trim, pms, and essentially a never ending price tag for modifications.

My car on 8 lbs made 427.4 to the rear tire untuned on 24lb injectors and one fuel pump.

You even have better heads than I do so with a 2.95 pulley you would see over 500 at the rear tire.

Just don't be like Johnny and crank the blower belt past tight and snap off the crank snout.

The Cobra is a totally different beast than a Fox. A Fox is no doubt more of a brute than a Cobra, but I can drive around all day with 500 hp, not having to constantly look at the gauges, everything works, it's comfortable, and it handles great. But when I sell the Cobra, I will be getting another Fox at some later point in my life. As they say...you can take a man out of the Fox, but not the Fox out of a man.
