Educate me on the Terminators

^ YEP!

Different expansion rates between the piston and cylinder wall....that gap closes up quickly. And by high RPM, high gear, I think its along the lines of going WOT in 5th and 6th after coming out of 4th (where your already moving).

If you're above 3500 or so RPMS in the last gear I believe...or something around there. You just have to widen out the coolant passages I think and get a better cooling surface for the fluid.

How do you do that? What have you cobra owner's done about this problem?

Is this IN FACT just an 04 Cobra prob? Or all terminators?

PTW? I'm guessing piston to cylinder wall

my buddie has an 04 redfire coupe and laid into 6th gear the other day for about ehh 15 seconds and BOOOM no lie......the ptw clearance on terminators will get ya. I didnt believe it was that big of an issue until this happened.....said he only got to around 150 and it locked up.

I guess that I'm lucky then.. I've done numerous high speed runs at WOT for extended periods of time, (of course I'm stock as far as hp goes) I'm talking 140+ mph runs here, and 3 or 4 where I hit the speed governor (highest it's kicked in, according to the speedo is 161, lowest is about 157). On one speed run, I floord it in 6th gear at 60, and held it there till I hit the speed governor (yes that creates a lot of heat) and my engine runs better now than it did the day I bought it.. maybe putting Mobil1 into it at the 500 mile mark, and running Mobil1 since then has something to do with that..
