I took the plunge and started on the suspension. I'm not a mechanic, usually just an oil change guy, but was able to pull off the installation of the springs using the Mustangworld directions. Ride seems to be the same or better than before. Turns can be taken much quicker now. Of course, the looks help.

My biggest lesson learned from the project was to definitely have someone pull down on the rear axle while you pull out the rear spring. Otherwise, it will waste a lot of time and energy you don't need to. Besides that part, you can do this by yourself.

Of course, here are some pics. And thanks to those on the board that shared their experiences, helping me choose springs and to install myself. :nice:

Why would you need somone to pull down harder on the rear axle??
All you need to do is unbolt the shock, and unbolt the lower control arm at the axle of the diff, and with a pump jack, lower the lower control arm down, and the spring will just fall out, then to put it back in,pump it back up with the spring in place, and bolt it back up.
Anyways, looks good, and she should drop more for sure!!:nice:

Mustangworld directions did not have you unbolt the control arm. Just unbolted the quad and rear shock. Then after lowering all the way, you still needed to pull down on the rear axle to get the spring to pop out.

Roaddane,

No, I didn't replace the shocks/struts at the same time. Honestly, I wanted to keep it simple so I didn't screw up. Now that I did the springs, the shocks and struts should be cake. Also, didn't have the money for both right now. I want to get QA1 adjustables in the rear. $$$
