What is a good one to get(part #)? How hard is the instal? I was changing my oil today and I can see the rubber coming out of it , so I figure its time to get one.

A lot of guys seem to be happy with the Romac, Pro Products, and Pioneer balancers. I don't have any part numbers for you, but I can tell you the install is simple if you have the correct puller and installer. You just tighten the bolt on the puller to remove the old one, and tighten the bolt on the installer to put the new one on. It's literally about a 20 minute job tops since it requires jacking up the front end, removing the belt, taking the pulley off the old balancer, swapping the two, and reinstalling the pulley and belt. Not a bad job to do at all, IMO.

I did the Pioneer SFI hb

very nice ...
good quality ...
very easy install ...
no spacer needed ...

Don't have access to my notes at this time
but
The specific details and pn have been posted by me many times
sooooooo
You could find it easily

Any of the stuff mentioned should do well in that case (you're pretty stock)

I have the duplicate of Grady's balancer. However, the non-SFI Pioneer would do you well and can be found in local parts stores sometimes.

Good luck.

pioneer, and if i can do it you can do it.... remove the fans and over flow tank... rent the puller.... (MAKE SURE IT HAS ALL THE PARTS!!!! UGH!) that alone will save you an hour... lol take off your belt... put car in gear and remove bolt and washer... use puller to yank out... took all of 1 hour from start to finish...

I bought the Pioneer SFI - only complaint I have is, that it's hard to see the numbers on the thing to make your marks. Other than that, it went on great.

I'll be selling mine though. Going to a 28oz.

Before installing mine .........

I used a black Sharpie to mark the 10 groove
and gave it a couple coats of clear

Been good to go for several years now

The 165k balancer. I had to order a pioneer one from advance cause the frpp one I got from summit didn't fit.

Sweet. I should have kept my first one. It was so bad, it was hitting the bottom water pump bolt.

My second stock POS, cracked at the key way. :bang: I buy the SFI Pioneer... then build a 331 and can't use it. :rlaugh: Oh, the crazy modding world. :D
