Ok, here's the deal... I'm planning to do some major mods to my 03 cobra in the next month or so. Here's the biggest dicision I am having trouble making.

Which would be the most reliable, lowest maintence and make the most power.

I'm sure the twin turbo would make the most peak hp. But from my estimates, I think it would cost twice as much as a big twin screw. I would like to get at least 700 at the wheels. Here's what I've got so far...

2.93 pulley, o/r x pipe and magnaflows, K&N fipk, custom dyno tuned to 464hp.
Also have 4.30 gears just installed, mm subframe bushings, mm differential bushings, mm subframe connectors, mm 4 bolt c/c plates, kenne brown lowering springs, bogart 16x10 and 15x4 wheels and MT Drag Radials. Oh, and a MGW shifter and SLP line lock.

I'm kind of leaning towards the KB or Whipple due to the price, but I don't want to do the twin screw just to be disappointed and wind up doing the TT later.
Whats your opinion? What would you do? Be specific (injectors, fuel pumps, MAF ect, ect, ect...)

Uncle Meat, I'm sure you've got a reciept in there somewhere for a 700hp street freak. Thanks in advance for any advice.

You're going to need a whole slew of parts to reach that number reliably. What kind of budget are we working with? Do you want this 700HP for bragging rights, or are you actually going to use it for something?

U.M.

P.S. Why in the world did you install 4:30 gears in a Terminator!?!?! Might as well get rid of that T56 and go with a 4 speed 'cause 1st & 2nd have got to be useless at this point! :D

either way you are going deep into the pocket book. you see a few people that started out ported eaton, then ported and spray, then they bump to twin screws, then twin screws and spray, then they finally got turbos.

the turbos are going to give you the most hp and they are very reliable, but you gotta have a good tuner. also to have the hp number you will proably have to run race gas, so I hope this isnt a daily driver, and I doubt it is with the bushings you have and the tires you are running.

basicly if you are worried that you will want turbos later then you proably will. cause you will be all happy with what the twin screws give you until you see someone with turbos makeing more than you on less boost, and as we all know less boost is less strain on the motor.

what about 4.10 gears?

U.M., There isn't really a set budget at this point. I currently have the funds to do the twin turbo, which from what I can tell with installation, tuning, sullivan intake, 75# injectors, and everything else needed to reach approx 800 rwhp, I was quoted approx $15k. And no, I don't need this much hp. It is just a weekend warrior that will occasionally see the strip. As for the 4.30's. Yes, with street tires, 1st, 2nd, and usually 3rd are pretty well useless. But with the DR's 1st is still useless, 2nd will hook with the psi down in the tires and when it does, it'll stick your cheeks in your ears...

BadMoFo,
I would really like the twin turbos, but was looking for a little more cost effective way to make some serious power. Everyone knows twin turbo's are cool and that is part of the fun in having them. But I'm looking for long term cost effecientcy, and if I go twin screw and then go twin turbo, that's not gonna be very cost effecient, huh.

Thanks to all for your opinions and keep them coming.

turbos

guy I know has 2.4KB and made 618 at the wheels on a cold run, heat soaked, about 590. Thats on pump gas. 700 is a big number, so you might also want to think about saving for a rebuild w/ that tight piston clearence.

Yes, it is the HP kit, but with a few substitutes. The kit comes with 60# injectors, we're gonna use 75#'s. It comes with c/c plates which I already have. The chip we're gonna delete cause we're gonna tune it with SCT software. A few other mods as well.

If anyone is interested, you can go to this website and check out another one of these twin turbo kits on an 04 cobra. They made 903hp with a bottle of NOS open in front of the intercooler. Go to www.precision-autosports.com and check out the "Daily Beast" It belongs to a doctor who lived here in Ohio but has since moved to Flordia.
