5.0 Twin Turbo Kit

From what I've heard about SSautochrome I wouldnt buy any of their products. I've heard various stories relating to how bad the turbos are with cracking and just straight up failing. If you want to twin turbo your car dont go the cheap route. And if you wanna go the cheap route dont buy from them. Just my .02

I want to warn you right now before you get burned... Don't order NOTHING having to do with turbo because I can't even get a response from none of those guys like that one for 689 with 89 shipping... it's been 4 days and 3 emails and have not heard from them at all so cut ebay out of the picture if I were you

Check it out, save your money for turbos for later, go natural aspirated. Go to http://www.tristatecylinderhead.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=41 and grab you some heads, much cheaper than those expensive arp heads and trickflow. These heads make the same power and to tell the truth I beleive that make more power and for damn near half the price, if you have to go with tubo right now. I can give you a hell of a resource of professionals.

Great thanks for the help. The prices are extremely low for what youre supposedly getting but if it's no good, ill stay away from that. Are there any other decent supercharger or turbo applications for fox bodies around that price range?

I'll let you know how they work when they arrive and installed cool? To be honest people, tell me all the time, it's how much you pay for the quality. Don't get me wrong, the more money doesen't always mean the more power. Now I quit shopping at walmart and the reason the price is "cheap" is mbecause these guys get awsome deals as is. The springs are set for .600 lift and machines and deep 60cc chambers, you can't beat that I mean 300 dollars cheaper than your "Everybody knows" brand and would probably work just as good...

So i'll make a deal, when they arrive, I'll get them on and will let send you some pics/video

Do you work for them or something? What type of heads are you looking at? The Gt40P or Ford Swirl Heads? All the springs on that page are only for .550 lift. Also if you plan on running .600 lift on stock pistons and passing emissions like a turbo would goodluck!

You also claim they are equal to " ARP" or trickflow heads? ARP doesn't make heads. Also I don't even see one flow number on their website. Where are you basing this off of? Many people use those heads and they don't match up to the AFR/Trickflow combos you see running around.

I have those heads, they work great. 195cc intake runner, 5angle valve job, dual rate springs, I put ISKY guideplates on and they make some serious power. I did a writeup on it, search for it. They are quality pieces. Don't knock 'em till you try them.

My buddy bought an SSAUTOCHROME turbo kit for his prelude...the turbo failed after about 300 miles and he could not get ahold of any sales rep.

we posted a "do not buy" thread on absoluteprelude.com and there were many others who had similar problems.. (cracked headers, failing turbos etc) there were only a very select few guys who said they didnt have anyMAJOR problems with their kits. goodluck man. i hope you get one of the few that dont suck.

Anyone that says they suck usually never had one of the products when it comes to SSAutochrome. I have installed 3 Miata kits and not one problem with the header or turbo and one kit is 3 years old now with many miles on it and it has been abused using the car as a Autocross vehicle. The only problem I have had with the kits are the fasteners are trash. They don't clean the threads of the bolts and the oil line fittings just are not the quality I would like with the risk of the Turbo and motor pumping oil out. I am installing the Twin Turbo kit now on my Mustang and documenting the installation for the next guy since they don't offer directions. You do need to make some changes on the car because of room when installed. I will be making my downpipes in the next couple of weeks and will check for any leaks and do some heat cycles and check all the bolts. I figure for the price I would play with the kit and use it as a base and go from that point.
