What else do I need to buy? Handle? Shifter knob? Shifter boot?

I'm going to go with a Pro50 based on different reviews from the forums.

Does anyone pics of their short throws? I hate the look of the mustang's bulky shifter.

I have heard nothing but positive things about the mgw shifter. Can someone tell me what makes these things so great? I have yet to drive a car with one in it but im dying to try one out. I have a steeda tri-ax in my car right now and i like it. I have also had a b&m and a pro 5.0 in the past, out of the 3 i have personally used i like the steeda the best.

honestly, since you already have the steeda, it's not really worth getting an mgw seeing as how they perform identically. the mgw is different, cool and i have yet to miss a shif with it. i love the damn thing to death!

I have the mgw as well and missed third gear when racing a srt. I dont know how and havnt since but i did once and will admit it. Maby because my adrenaline was through the roof!

Wow, the MGW shifter looks really freaking amazing. Does it come w/ all three different handles? I didn't see any reference to that on the website. I have the B&M Ripper right now, and I've always loved it. I might have to get the MGW when T-56 time comes around.

The stock boot is fine. It just looks a little scrunched down but still a great fit. As far as the ball...I've tried SEVERAL different ones and the one I like the best is the leather ball from the 99-03 Cobra (5-sp)

A shifter is a shifter in my eyes, and the driver has a lot to do with missing shifts. I can drive my 4cyl with a stock shifter as well as my 5.0 with the Pro5.0!
Agreed. I have the MGW, and wouldn't buy anything else, but only because of the handle design and build quality. Every shifter will shift pretty much the same, and if you're missing shifts I guarantee it's driver error. The main benefit of an aftermarket shifter is the shift stops that save the tranny from damage on hard shifts. You don't need anything other than the shifter. You can use the stock boot and knob.
