While trying to get that POS off the bottom TIP BROKE  in the MOTOR
2X   :bang:

Now its stuck in there and we where unable to take it out!!! Has this happened to
anyone? How the HELL did you take it out?

Any advice on how I should go about getting that little piece out of there???

Thanks for looking

Sorry I will clarify . The piece is stuck in the bottom end.

The dip stick goes in a hole in the block (squeezes in) well the part that squeezes in the block is still there where the rest broke when we where trying to
pull it out of the block so its not in the oil pan

I would spray some of the penetrating stuff when you start the the job and
do it a few more times till you get to that point where it has to be pulled out. That might help a bit.

The job is not that hard( just follow the instructions form the last post), honestly we started working at around 3 and by 6:30 we had the K member and headers off the car.

knock the tip into the oil pan and then use a magnet to fish it out of the drain plug hole. Thats what I had to do when this happend to me, it's common when doing long tubes

I will give that shot this week some time, proll Tuesday or Wed night.

I was thinking of trying to tap into that piece and pull it out, but the concern in metal shavings in the oil pan. <--- any thoughts on this

Ahh the smell/sight of gobs of penetrating oil on hot headers/heads.

That'll be a nice smokeshow when you first fire it up!

Well I ended up having to push whatever is left of the dip stick into the oil pan like
suggested and I am going to drain the oil and pull it out this weekend.

I have a few other issues also, The 02 wire extenders summit sent me don't fit
the grooves don't line up, I am going to send them back and have to wait for the replacement then finish putting the car back together.

To be honest so far from what I did, I don't think the its a crazy job, but I have worked on my DSM for the last 5 years Doing a clutch job every summer, Turbo swaps and all general repair work and this job compared to a Talon Clutch job is
pretty easy So Far. No Putting the car back together my be a bitch so I duno.

If you are mechanically inclined and have another car so your not out a car while doing the job I would do it, save the $500 and get another MOD with that $$:D

I have buddy that helps me out so its not that bad.

welp ive done everything to date on my car so far.. cept for gears and welding the frames. i think i can tackle this in 2 days with a friend.. ill prob take some pics too in case i run into any problems.. jw tho.. have there ever been any cases of bending or crushing the pan when supporting it with a jack and wood??

I am not sure about the oil pan thing mine seems to be holing up good so far

If I did not break the dip stick and have an issue with the 02 sensor this job is doable in 1 day although breaking it up into 2 days is a better idea, I am in Ontario so it like -20 out here and the garage is not very warm lol.
