I am so frustrated with DAS auto shippers right now. I had a car shipped out to me from California about a month ago to Ohio where I am moving. Well, during transit they had to change trucks a couple of times to "expidite" the shipping process. Well, I get the car two weeks after it was dropped of in Cali. Which was fine (quoted me the exact date). However, there was snow down on the ground where they had parked the car (intentionally, I wouldn't doubt it) so naturally the tires had snow on them. I get the car home and saw that there wasn't much tire left!!! These tires only had 6,000 Km on them (about 4,700 miles) and I know something happened while in transit. I cannot believe that this happened and it will be next to impossible to prove to them eventhough I have pics the day of drop-off and the day I got it home! Their terms say in fine print "Not responsible for low hanging exhaust, tires, rims, etc. I am at a loss for words as to why I paid and extra 200 bucks for their insurance if they don't cover these things!!! What should I do??? BTW the car had NO gas in it when I picked it up!!! Luckily my G/F hadn't left yet and I had to borrow a gas can and get some before I could even start it. Total B.S. not worth the $750 I paid to ship it. I am sending a claim in to see what happens who knows!!!

Where at in Ohio are you in relation to the Dayton/Columbus area? Any plans on going to National Trails at the end of August? Didn't you sell your Mustang? Thought I read that you had, maybe not. Thanks for the welcome, now if I could just sell my house down here first!!! One thing I don't miss is the freakin snow!!!

That sucks! Its usually easy to tell a normally worn tire from one thats been through alot of burnouts or spinning. You would see lots of parallel lines running accross the tread blocks. If they look smooth, I'd hate to say it but its more likely that they were like that before maybe you didn't notice it. But that would be ridiculous wear for 6k's. Mine have about 15k km's on them and the fronts look almost brand new. Can't say the same about the rears though

Not Cool.
I am always nervous if I need to leave my car anywhere for anything. I am always afraid some yahoo is going to get in there and take it for a thrash fest.

I am thinking since I have a tweecer that I need to make a custom tune that will make the car seem like it has no power at all, or get another RPM pill for my MSD box that will set the rev limiter to like 3500 rpm's.

I am about 2.5 hours north of Columbus...right up I75......I sold my V6 vert...for a better DD that the car seat fits in......I wouldn't be opposed to coming down...Rob Kevin Don are all from that area as well and two of them have Opal Frost's..lol

Yes, I am! Yes, I do have an OF! (With some modification, of course.) I do plan to go to everything I possibly can, this year. (Single, again! Woo-hoo!)

Welcome to Ohio! You picked the "right" time of year to come here!!!! NOT! At least it's not going to be -4 degrees for the next few days. :D

As far as the car, if you have a receipt for the tires you could try to convince them that something happened in transit. You have nothing to lose. Make dem bitches pay!

I used them to ship a bike a while ago and was not happy with their service, it took several days longer than predicted because they were closing the local warehouse and my bike was just sitting there on a pallet. They offered very little in the way of a "sorry" other than just saying "oops" and "sorry." I'd never use them again, but I guess you get what you pay for and they were the cheapest...

ForwardAir all the way next time!
