4cylinder T-5 question

will a t-5 out of a 4cyl 89 mustang work behind a 302 with the right bellhousing and a modified pilot bearing. i have heard that the input shaft on these t-5s are a little smaller. but will the tranny itself stand up against the V8, and also does the 4cyl input shaft have the same splines as the V8 clutch disc. any knowledge or advice as usual is appreciated.:flag:

Yes it will work

There are alot of opinions about this with most people telling you no. All you need is a v8 bellhousing and modified pilot bearing. A 4 cyl T5 can easily handle a stock MII v8. Probably better than the original RAD

I got lucky as I used a T5 from an 86 SVO turbo. This particular model was stronger, geared slightly better for a V8 application and used the same input collar as a v8, so I was able to upgrade from aluminum to an all steel collar. Something you can't do with other year models. Good luck.
