The thread of the nicest FOXES!

Here's a pic with my summer rims on, and it's been lowered a lil since these pics were taken, and a pic of the engine during rebuild, I ordered the complete trick flow track heat kit for it and add a bunch of other supporting tranny and suspension mods as well, can't wait to get it back to the States in June and finish up the rest.

Yeah she's got a few dings, dents, and some wiring issues but I love her and plan on doing some work to her this summer. This is the best view of her now a day after I bought her and drove her from Cali. to her new home in Michigan.

allballsmustang: I was just wondering about those rims. Did you get the set from 50resto.com? I seen they have them as a set on their website. Those are 17x9 right? I was wondering what size tires you put on them, and if you had any rubbing issues up front. Thanks bud

yes they are 17x9 03 cobras in a 4 lug...i got em from cj pony parts in harrisburg pa...saved alot of money on shipping because i just drove there to pick em up...there not cheap though in chrome...just so you know though the only issue with using those rims is you have to use center caps slightly different than the ones they normally come with because they will hit the dust cap...you need a deeper one on a foxbody... and as for tires im running a 245 nitto 555...it does hit just slightly...they stick out a bit in the front but i love that look...i used 1/2" spacers in the back also...hope this helps

Most places I've seen are selling them for around $170 a piece, but 50resto.com gives you a set of lugs so thats the best deal I've found so far. You would think being 4 lug the wheels would be built for the older foxbodies and they would take into consideration the center cap thing, but oh well. What did you have to do? Get different ones? If so where? Where exactly do the front wheels rub? Did you try flipping the quad shocks for clearence in the back for clearance? Also how do the 245's fit on a 9" rim, do they look goofy or anything? Sorry for so many questions just trying to plan ahead :)

I just had to send back the center caps and they got me deeper ones....the front wheels actually only rub on the gt sideskirt attached to the front bumper...thats the only spot so its really not that bad...as for the quads in the back i have kyb's and with 1/2" spacers they fit fine...the problem with flipping a quad shock is that if you install it upside down (on a kyb) then they have that opening where all the dirt can go down inside...on the factory quad it doesnt have that so its not a problem...but my quads were shot so i replaced them...as for the 245's i think they look sweet on a 9'' rim...some guys go narrower but i like the way they look...and for the price, i paid 200 but that was when they first came out in a 4 lug so they were a little more expensive, 170 isnt a bad price at all...i dont think youll be disappointed at all with the way these rims will look on your car at all...im going to try to get more pics off my computer at home too put up to see tire width...
