im talkin to a guy on another board about possibly driving down to maryland for a tremec 3550 this weekend. he pm'd me a # off the trans to i.d. it as a 3550. the number is 2605803. i searched on yahoo and came up with this http://www.midwesttruck.com/TrancatPDF/tr3550.pdf

it shows that number as the top cover but does show it for a 3550/tko. just wondering if anyone can give me a definite yes that its a 3550 or tell me where i can find a different number on the trans to tell me for sure? thanks

sounds to me like the number you have is the part number of a top cover without pins for a tremec transmission. he need to look on the side of the tranny for the tranny part number.or have him send you some pics. to post.

well no pics but he did get back to me with a couple more numbers from around the shifter location. one is msk-11734 and the other is c2605865. i'm planning to take the drive down saturday and pick it up. i know its easy to tell between a t5 and tremec just by looking at how many bolts hold the shifter down, was just trying to get a positive answer before i take the drive. piece of mind i guess
