Nitrous Anyone?

hey bud go for it all the way I'm running a 125 shot NOS wet kit, but if I had to do it again I might look at zex. Zex kits come with a little extra if you know what I mean. Also check places like rpmoutlet.com they offer package deals.

I like the regular purge. I like to think it sends shivers of fear down the spine of anyone who chooses to rev on me. I just dont know about the dual 12 foot show purges. Might as well put neon lights on em and have them pulse like machine guns. :)

Wow. I've used a lot of kits and have argued about this many times. In my [very experienced] opinion this is what I think:

Wet = Safer

Dry = Better if set up correctly. If you've never used nitrous and plan to do it with out an A/F meter- not your best choice.

NX is probably the best kit if you want to make a lot of power at a fair price. The quality is excellent. The shark nozzle is among the best.

Zex is the best entry level kit....period. Don't expect to make more than 125RWHP with it. It comes with a built in WOT switch (it's TPS sensing) and is self contained. Installs really easy.

The NOS dry kit with the pair of solenoids that has the FP sensing built into it (#5115 I think) is copied [in design] by everybody and is regarded by alot of people "in the know" as the best cheap & easy kit.

Race tested is probably all around the best but is big $$$$.

Edelbrock makes good kits too...

Any of the generic wet kits would be great as long as you keep the shot down to 100-125hp.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm gonna buy a kit probably in April. I'm still deciding between the Zex and NX kits. I'm not sure which to choose from. I have never run nitrous before and I know QDRHRSE stated Zex is the best entry level. I do like the fact that NX rates their HP at the wheels.

NX has a life time solenoid warranty, but the Zex kit does make for a clean install. My brother and I have used NX for over 2 years, my cousin has used Zex for almost 5; no problems on either end.

If you can T off the fuel line just before it hits the rails instead of pulling from the schrader. It's been proven as a way to limit the fuel pressure drop across the rail from the solenoid opening.

Just type in "nitrous" and read every thread that comes up, not something you want to go into without alot of knowledge. (Also search at Modular depot.com, alot of good info there too)

(lower timing, colder plugs, CHECK THE A/F RATIO!)
