Midlife crisis???

just ignore him. he's being a prick.

I'm 20 and i get *******s all the time asking me if its daddy's car. I actually say the same thing every time. And it is usually low-life ricers trying to be tough.

"Hey! Is that your daddy's car? I bet you feel cool."

"No, It's mine. I went to school unlike your dumb ass so i dont have to drive the piece of **** your in."

It's really funny actually, cuz they usually have nothing to say after that. And i drive off with the bird out my window. And if they try to race they get embarrassed.

if someone says that to you again say nothing. They want you to say something back so they can act cool and argue with you. OR, Tell them their car sucks (if it does) and then roll up your window. if they continue to yell louder so you can hear, roll back down your window and crank up the music loud so you wash them out and act like you are trying to hear what he's saying but can't. that really pisses people off, and its funny.

If their car is nice, be nice back and they will feel like a jerk.

the good ole F-you works great too.

When I got to the bottom of this thread, there were two ads for Monte Carlo parts. This doesn't seem to be a good place for them to advertise! Perhaps the ads change from time to time.

I owned a small block Olds Cutlass from 1965-1969 and a big block Olds Cutlass Supreme from 1969-2006. The 2007 Mustang GT is my first Ford. GM has absolutely nothing that I would want to own.

GM does make the corvette/ Z06. i wouldnt complain if i had that.

But, to be honest, the overall quality of FORD is not to my standard and not that great. I am a mech. engineer and designer, and they went shoddy on a lot of things to save cost.

example, you can literally shake and move the dash about 8 degrees up and down. The trunk just floored me how "thrown together" it is. just a (very cheap) carpet tossed in there to cover a spare tire. the board they have back there is too long and sits too close to the edge so when you lift it up and down it scratches the hell out of the car. Some of the plastic in the interior is real flimsy. like the plastic ring that goes around the base of the steering wheel, and trans hump. The carpet at the firewall doesnt cover everything. The carpet isnt that great of quality altogether. The sun visors are just ridiculously cheap. just a bunch of things like that that ford went cheapo on. Quality is not Priority #1. I would not buy another ford car other than mustang. period. but thats just my opinion.

Not to jack this thread but the Mustang isn't about quality. To have a car like this you have to make some sacrifices. If you want the same type of drive train and style plus quality you have to pay $70k for a Jag XK.

Back on topic: I'm 22 with a GT and always get older guys in big pickups and SUVs staring at me. I also get tons of younger people checking out my car too and giving me the old thumbs up. People who call the Mustang a MLC car are just jealous they don't have one.

You're never too old to have a happy childhood - and I'm having mine now!
Bought my first ever Mustang, an 05 GT, two years ago at 53, sold it and now have the 06 GT. Added the stripes, leather and big wheels this time. Haven't had this much fun since I had my 65 GTO in high school!

Living here in England with it is really fun - people appreciate cars more here I think, get nothing but very positive reaction everywhere I go. Lots of requests for pics of it even.

Driving it to France next week, going to tour the D Day beaches and Normandy area. Hope the French are the same - but I know it will turn a lot of heads over there too!

Hey, Marine One - Semper Fi! 2692956. (That was before we started using SSNs in the Corps)

Complete TOOL!!!! I've had nothing but positive comments from complete strangers and if I didn't wouldn't matter a bit. Just yesterday I had a woman driving next to me and I caught her glimpsing over numerous times. Finally I looked over and had to turn the radio down as she asks "What kind of car is that, is it a Mustang?" as I said yes she states "Awesome car, I love it".

The S-197 Mustang seems to be very polarizing. Millions of people appear to like if not love the S-197. On the other hand many, many people, for whatever reason appear to be very hostile to the S-197. Maybe it's just old fashioned jealousy.

Replace "S-197" with "Mustang."

I've had both of my cars ('66 and '01) ****ed up by jealous people.

On the Monte Carlo. He obviously thinks your Mustang costs way more than his car. Like you spent a lot of money on a car you don't need. Which makes him jealous. Which is kinda weird because base price on an '06 Mustang is from $20-26k, and base price for an '06 Monte Carlo is from $21-26k.

The wife tells everyone I am having a crisis

The only one who has accused me of having a midlife crisis when I drive the 'stang it my wife. She loves to tell people that, and I tell her the 'stang is cheaper than a Mistress. (Actually my midlife crise was resolved 18 years ago when I bought an old Triumph that I still love to drive. She just never figured it out.)

She wouldn't let me buy a 'stang for me, but it was ok to buy one for my daughter to drive. Go figure. :bang: I bought the kid the 'stang to get my Triumph back, but I quickly grew fond of the 'stang. With the kid away at college, I get to drive the 'stang while she has my old honda beater. :nice: June will be an interesting month around the farm whe she gets home for the summer. :spot:

Funny, being 47 I get a lot of "Mid-Life" comments... so I got this to help them out a little bit...
