Well my car has the factory gears which are 2.73's I think. As far as things I did to the car before I left was replace a number of parts such as,
Harmonic Balancer
PCV Valve
Crankcase breather (Mesh thing under pcv valve)
All the vacuum lines
9mm Wires
MSD Cap/rotor
Sparkplugs
Both o2's
Fuel system cleaner a couple of times before I left
clean MAF & IAT
Cleaned throttle body & manifold
syn in tranny and diff
of course oil change 10w30 with some treatment added.
oil switch and both drain plugs plus gaskets
radiator
t-stat 180*
lower ball joints
inner tie rods
balanced all tires and filled with nitrogen
replaced both front struts
air filter (still using the regular paper ones)
Fuel filter
Car ran amazingly steady and strong the whole way. Very very comfortable ride, never ran it under 1/4 tank of gas because didnt want to take the chance of overheating the fuel pump, I have no idea how long its been in there. Still using factory timing on 87octane. I was completly amazed with the mileage I got. But I did notice one thing that played a role was the quality of the fuel. I filled at sunoco before I left and got 23 then at citgo(dont remember how to spell it) and got 25 and then i filled at some **** station called pure where they didnt even accept cards just cash and got 19 then filled at a hess and hit the magic 28 and filled at chevron and hit the magic 28 again.
Much better than the 13 I was getting when I first bought the car. So yea I want to get my cross drilled slotted rotors now and get some new headlights and fog lights and replace the rocker arms and pushrods to see if this car can make the trip from here to north carolina and back
. I have noticed it seems that the blow by on the car is pretty much zero because this car doesnt smoke at all even under WOT. And the oil always comes out light brown with a hint of yellow even after 2k-3k miles. With no oil consumption. I have the factory exhaust though and I dont really want to touch it because I like the car pretty much stock, but I like to do mods that make the car better on gas so I was thinking maybe I could go with a high flow catted h-pipe, that way I get the plus of some mileage and can keep my car emissions legal and still quiet, because for long trips which I plan on doing a lot more of, exhaust drone sux!
And sorry about the long post guys, lol :SNSign:
