Ok well I just got back from my trip to mt. dora then tampa then back. Had some fun at sea world too. Anyway Mustang did GREAT! 28MPG!!! I was AMAZED!!!!! and that was 75-90MPH with the ac on normal, Str8 cruise control. Had no problems what so ever even my g/f was impressed with it and it was a super comfortable drive as well. Anyway she completed 1000+ miles in a weekend and let me say now that I know she can do it I plan on trying to make it to north carolina next. hehehe. Anyway just back to say whats up to everyone, been gone a week so yea Sup guys? lol. Ill see if I can get some picks up of sea world if any of you guys care, lol.

Well my car has the factory gears which are 2.73's I think. As far as things I did to the car before I left was replace a number of parts such as,

Harmonic Balancer
PCV Valve
Crankcase breather (Mesh thing under pcv valve)
All the vacuum lines
9mm Wires
MSD Cap/rotor
Sparkplugs
Both o2's
Fuel system cleaner a couple of times before I left
clean MAF & IAT
Cleaned throttle body & manifold
syn in tranny and diff
of course oil change 10w30 with some treatment added.
oil switch and both drain plugs plus gaskets
radiator
t-stat 180*
lower ball joints
inner tie rods
balanced all tires and filled with nitrogen
replaced both front struts
air filter (still using the regular paper ones)
Fuel filter

Car ran amazingly steady and strong the whole way. Very very comfortable ride, never ran it under 1/4 tank of gas because didnt want to take the chance of overheating the fuel pump, I have no idea how long its been in there. Still using factory timing on 87octane. I was completly amazed with the mileage I got. But I did notice one thing that played a role was the quality of the fuel. I filled at sunoco before I left and got 23 then at citgo(dont remember how to spell it) and got 25 and then i filled at some **** station called pure where they didnt even accept cards just cash and got 19 then filled at a hess and hit the magic 28 and filled at chevron and hit the magic 28 again. :D :D Much better than the 13 I was getting when I first bought the car. So yea I want to get my cross drilled slotted rotors now and get some new headlights and fog lights and replace the rocker arms and pushrods to see if this car can make the trip from here to north carolina and back:D . I have noticed it seems that the blow by on the car is pretty much zero because this car doesnt smoke at all even under WOT. And the oil always comes out light brown with a hint of yellow even after 2k-3k miles. With no oil consumption. I have the factory exhaust though and I dont really want to touch it because I like the car pretty much stock, but I like to do mods that make the car better on gas so I was thinking maybe I could go with a high flow catted h-pipe, that way I get the plus of some mileage and can keep my car emissions legal and still quiet, because for long trips which I plan on doing a lot more of, exhaust drone sux!

And sorry about the long post guys, lol :SNSign:

Sweet mpg. By the time I take off after filling up, and my rear bumper passes the pump it's time to fill up at the next pump again.

Wow.... lol, thats pretty bad, look at the bright side, at least you make it to the next pump, and in the time between I am sure you love the way your stang must sound and from the look of it, it looks pretty SWEET, lol. But I am going to shoot for 30mpg on the next trip with some u/d pulleys and a catted high flow h-pipe.

Anyone ever drive anything with a dual-quad? You feel like you can literally watch the fuel gauge drop.

You guys do good. My milage is in town and is around 15.

Driving from BC to Ontario a few years ago, through the states on the I-90, I believe, I shot 29 mpg throughout the trip....mind you, that could have been off since my speedometer always seemed to be off 3mph at 60....

hahaha, i wasn't always doing that speed....I planted it through a few states, till I got a ticket in Fargo, ND...then I slowed down till I hit Chicago...then traffic forced me to drive extremely fast like a retard

when i had my car n/a with 280 rwhp, 3:73 gears I was getting 20mpg......Not bad in my mind!

Its amazing how good miledge our car's get........i drive my bronco to work and cry when i pass gas stations.....

For a bronco owner, 12 mpg is pimpin'!

Oh i see i see said the blind man to the deaf dog listening to the radio....:D Well How many miles and hours was that trip? Sounds like fun minus the ticket... and green gt I was getting 14 when i first bought this car and I was dieing.... Now i am extreeeeemly happy with 20+ mpg during regular driving and 28mpg LONG TRIPS! lol. I would get rid of my car if my average was 12mpg hehehe...

I drove mine 16 hours one way years ago. Even when it was stock I was miserable. I hate driving but the stang wasn't to bad. Was definitely better than driving my Z28 half that distance.

Cruise and AC is all I need. Everything else is just gravy.

awesome! Best i've gotten in this car so far is 27 on the highway and average 25-26 to work everyday 91.2 miles round trip from titusville to palmbay so i too am a happy camper....I have 3.27's though from when it was an AODE
