Hypertech chip

Hypertec...like all generic chips are...JUNK. Their only fuction is to bump the timing, you can do that yourself, so find the receipt and send the chip back where it came from. There is no 'magic' chip that adds power and it's a shame they can adverstise it like they do and charge what they do. You'll make more power without the 'chip' and setting your timing at 13-14 degrees.

I bought a chip today and went and put it in but when i started the car it was running so rich. This isn't right is it?????Somebody please HELP ME

First, welcome to :SNSign:

Unfortunately, the chip is NOT likely to add any power that you couldn't get otherwise with some time tuning.
If you are running rich, that is a problem.

Did you reset the computer when installing the chip? (disco the battery for at least 15min)

How modified is your Mustang?

chips are junk, especially when you figure depending on where you go you can get dyno tuned for the same price or a hundred or so more, which will beat a pre progamed with out any readings chip.

Re read my post...sorry came off a bit rude i think. I'm obviously not a big fan of the mail order chip...it's just companies taking advantage of the general public. Enjoy the site...SO much to learn here and we hope you stick around to enjoy all stangnet has to offer.

chip should have not be causing any issues you did describe...I would again remove the item and return it if you have the ability, if not ebay would be my next option. Remove the chip and take the car out...see if you notice any changes good or bad.
